Prologue

Writing, one of my favorite things to do when I’m not studying different profiles of different individuals. If not writing, I’ll be reading. Fantasy, horror, and the occasional romance. I’ve probably read every genre of existence, just name it!

Sometimes I curse myself for being so young. Okay, I’m not that young. I’m eighteen, if that counts as young or not, is beyond me. I may physically look like an adult but believe me, when it comes to mentally, I don’t consider myself even close.

I graduated high school at the age of thirteen, with honors. When I was in the first grade, I was immediately raised up to middle school because my intelligence apparently was too much for a kid that young.

I spent probably two years in middle school before being raised to high school, again for the same reason.

After that, I devoted myself to studying. I was always fond of journalism. To be able to tell a story. At the same time, I wanted to really go into psychology. So, when I hit university, I studied both at the same time. Just last year, I graduated with distinction at Harvard.

I’m surprised I’m not seasick yet. Since a very young age, I always got sick while in a boat of any sort.

In that case, I’m very much different than Gran. She always loved sailing and I remember her telling me great stories of her time on different voyages.

I really miss those stories, sometimes. Ever since she passed away a few years ago, I can’t help but remember her bright smile whenever Grandpa walked into my room while she was telling me a bedtime story.

Mom was Gran’s daughter and she passed away too, unfortunately in an accident.

So, knowing I’m the next person after her to know the most about the Titanic’s story, I was called aboard for the expedition.

As I write away about different plotlines, a very loud scream causes me to drop my pencil to the ground.

What the hell was that?

Samuel, one of the workers on the boat run in. He’s out of breath and is finding it hard to breathe.

“Come out, Violet! There’s something out there, it’s crazy!” He yells, gesturing me to follow him.

I quickly get up from the chair I was sitting on and run after him.

As I reach the deck, I see a crowd of workers piled in one place, looking down at something.

One of them turns around, it’s Gerald. He’s the captain of the expedition. He looks at me with a shocked expression and gestures me to come to him.

When I’m there, he points at something and surprise fills me as I realize what I’m looking at.

Right in front of me, covered completely in ice lies a man with blonde hair.
