The Beginning

“Musa”! I hear a voice from behind me call out. I turned around to see my best friend, Raiden Radke, jogging up behind me. Her long blonde hair, which is up in a ponytail, swaying back in forth as she jogs. When she gets to me I see that she is wearing black ripped jeans that fit her long legs and a black shirt with a skull on it. Her makeup is a smoky look which makes her blue eyes stand out more.

“You wanna go with me to see the new Saw movie? Its playing tonight and it’s the last day of school anyways so we could have a sleepover at my place after.” Why this girl is into gore I will never know, though she is the bad girl type.

One of the boys once slapped her ass in the cafeteria and she punched him in the face so hard he fell right on his ass with a blood gushing from his nose like a faucet.

There was also this other time one of out other friends was being picked on and had gotten into a fight. We just so happen to be walking past and she jumped right into the fight to help. Though she ended up suspended for a month and a half for braking one of the bullies' arm. Our friend was never messed with again though after that.

“I can’t” I say a little sad that I can’t hang out with her. She looked dejected. “I’m going to visit my uncle this summer remember”. It doesn’t surprise me she that she forgot. This girl is always on the go, some things go in one ear out the other. “Oh, that’s right. I remember you telling me. Can’t you just wait to leave a day or two”? She said hoping i could.

Before I could answer we hear a car horn next to us and turn to see my mother waving at me from the car. “Hurry up we need to leave now so we can get you guys to the airport. The flight leaves in an hour. We need to hurry home.” she said with an impatient tone.

This woman was always on the go but what do you expect from a CEO’s wife. Yes CEO my dad owns a big advertising company. You may be thinking how privileged or you must be a spoiled rich girl. Well let me tell you i’m not. People think all rich kids have it easy and yes I leave with no problems in life however i’m not the same as those rich snobs.

I don’t have a million dollar car or the latest phone. No my parents actually started out in poverty and as they grew and had children they taught us about hardship. Though now i'm a freshman in high school, we rarely see them anymore.

Sure our family is rich but as i got older i noticed we don’t have a family bond that most people have and to be honest I would give up this rich life just to have a strong family bond. Not what we have, just strangers living in the same house, that share the same blood. My brother and I are close. Other than my best friend, he is the closest person to me.

Enough about that anyway as we got home and got our things into the car, my brother, Adin and I are saying goodbye to our mother who brought us to the airport.

After our goodbyes my mom stops me from walking. “Make sure nothing happens to him. I don’t want him coming home hurt or anything”. She says looking at me like I was an eyesore. “Okay” I say as I start to walk away. My brother is the favorite even though he is younger than me, they love him more. As we board the private plane my brother and I make our way to our seats and got situated.

My brother doesn’t know but there is a reason to why we are going to our uncles. Our parents are getting a divorce and haven’t told us yet. Well I found out from over hearing one of their late night talks. I think they are hoping something will happen to me or I will want to stay with my uncle permanently.

I know neither one of them want me to live with them. My brother on the other hand, who is in the 8th grade, is being fought over that’s why we are going to our uncles. So they can settle things and figure out who gets him.

It’s about a 4 hour flight to my uncle who like my family is rich and is currently living on his private island. That’s where we are going. I reach next to me and pull out my fuzzy blanket and the pillow I brought and lay down to sleep. I put in my head phones and slowly drift off to sleep.
