CHAPTER 1: WHO IS HE?
It was October 1st, 2018 and I could still remember the raindrops hitting me in the face. I never checked the weather, so all I had on was a gray Superman shirt, jeans and my slides. I was so soaked and I could barely see where I was going. The rain had picked up. I was on my way to school, high school to be exacted. I didn’t have friends so this was the norm to me. My mom always told me to stop being picky because she knew I always felt alone.
I didn’t know how to make friends so I just gave up. I remember seeing this guy. He was about 6 foot, with jeans, a red baseball cap, brown eyes, and a white t-shirt. From the looks of it it didn’t seem like he checked the weather either. He just stared and stared until I looked away. I felt a bit uneasy so I just started walking fast until I couldn’t see him anymore. I didn’t tell anyone about it because maybe I was just overreacting. Maybe he was someone’s dad making sure they got to school safe. Maybe.
The next day I saw him again. The same exact spot. This time I didn’t stare back, I ran. I was scared to look back, but I could feel him still staring at me. I then started running out of breath and begin to slow down. I looked back again but no one was there. This time when I went to school I told my teachers, then my parents. No one believed me. No one. I was scared and terrified. What if he was there tomorrow? What if he was there everyday? What did he want? Soon everyone would be asking those questions.
CHAPTER 2: “MISSING”
It had been 8 hours and 10 minutes since I’ve been missing. It’s also the amount of time I’ve been sitting in a chair tied looking at a tv screen. My parents and my face were all over the news. I was right here and they couldn’t see me. I was scared, anxious and confused. Where was he and why did he take me? Every time I would hear my parents voices on tv begging and pleading for the kidnapper to bring me back, a tear would fall down my face. I just wanted to go home. I wanted to be with my family.
As I’m watching the news I suddenly hear loud footsteps coming from behind me. I was paralyzed. The room seem to have gotten darker. The footsteps got closer and closer. He was so close to me I started to feel him breathing on my neck. He then began to start mumbling something. It almost sounded demonic, like he was possessed. I will never forget what happens next. He then turned his head, looked at me and smiled with the most terrifying look I’ve ever seen. It was so eerie. Right after that I knew I had to get out of there quick and fast or I’ll be dead.
CHAPTER 3: HIDE AND SEEK
At that very moment all I could think about was getting out of there. He left the room so I thought it would be the perfect opportunity to try. I began to move the chair back and forth while still watching my parents on tv. It didn’t work so I had to think of a plan fast. I could feel myself becoming very sweaty and fatigued. I was starving. I haven’t ate since I was kidnapped. I knew if I didn’t escape soon, I would die of starvation. I just tried focusing. I then suddenly remembered how sweaty I was and that he tied me up with duct tape.
Since I was so slippery I tried slithering my way out of it. It worked. It took a lot of time, but I was free. My arms and legs were so bruised I could barely walk. I was so weak, but I was determined to get out of there. I needed to go home. I needed them to know I was going to be okay.
It was close to midnight and it was very dark in that house. It looked abandoned, so I knew no one would come looking for me there. As I walked down a long corridor I saw an exit sign. The floor was so old, it creaked. The door was too far away for me to just try to walk there, so I tried running. I must have been running really fast because the floor creeks were getting louder and louder. It was so loud I didn’t even know he walking behind me, watching me attempt to escape.
Again, he gave me another eerie look, clapped his hands and all of the lights in the house turned off. He then starts whistling and says “ Let’s play a game of hide and seek, if I catch you, I kill you”.
You could tell from his voice that he was smiling. He begans walking, but all I could do was crawl and look in the direction of the door where I knew it to be. I was getting out of there alive. I just knew I wouldn’t be so pretty at the end. After all, who wants to die on their 16th birthday.
CHAPTER 4: ALMOST THERE
I felt around for anything I could protect myself with. The lights were off, but I could still hear the tv blaring. All I could hear was my name. I was almost there. I was almost to my parents.
As I began to get up, I felt a sharp, painful pinch on the bottom of my back. I was getting weak, but I thought it was just from being so dehydrated. Not at all. I was bleeding out and wasn’t aware that I’ve been knicked. I couldn’t walk anymore, so I crawled again. Well at least I tried to. This was it. I was dying.
