Chapter 1
The streets of New Orleans were dry and humid. The streets, dark and empty, as movie theater signs glow bright.
THE FOUR HORSEMEN OF THE APOCALYPSE
STARRING RUDOLPH VALENTINO AND POMEROY CANNON
A muffled scream lures police to an alleyway, guns drawn. A street lamp silhouettes two figures, looming over a now still body.
"You! Drop your weapons!" The first officer nervously yelled.
One figure laughs, before jumping into a car, the other hopping on the back.
Police leapt out of the way, the car speeding past.
Several shots were fired, one hitting its target in the arm.
A day later newspapers had already wrote about the encounter with the "New Orleans killer duo".
Police scouted the bayou and alleyways, looking for the bloody man. Women and men talked about the killer who was shot, where did he go for help, would he bleed out like his victims?
No one was safe from the New Orleans killer duo.
