Prologue. Her
I padded up to a lake and stared at my reflection in the water. Then, I heard a shuffling from leaves behind me. I spin around to see a tawny colored wolf staring at me. I quickly recognized who it was, It was my little sisters wolf. The wolf padded up to my snow colored wolf. I padded up to her as well. She nipped at my legs as did I.
We chased each there in the woods until I came to a stop in front of her. She stopped right behind me. Four wolves stood there. One had a grey pelt while the others were a rusty color, they had a foul smell stuck to them like a bug. They growled at us knowing exactly who we were. They knew we were the Alphas children and that we were alone. They circled around us until the grey wolf came up to me.
I knew this wolf was a rogue in fact all of these wolves were rogues. Out of the corner of my eye I saw one of the rust colored wolves move closer to my little sister. I gave off a warning growl telling him to back away. Apparently, he didn't get the warning so he drew closer to my sister. That's when I came up to him and bit his snout. He whimpered then the rest came closer, I growled again except this growl wasn't a warning. I was ready but, was my sister.
I sprang to the nearest rust colored wolf which was the one who was drawing closer to me. I quickly bit into his throat as his blood stained my white fur. Then, I was wrestling with the other two rusty colored wolves. I bit the throat of the wolf who was biting at my hind leg. The other rust colored wolf sprang onto my back, I ran to one of the trees and slammed the wolf on my back onto the tree. That's when I saw the grey wolf biting into my sisters throat. Her legs scrambling to fight off her attacker. I sprang to my legs and ran towards my sister. The wolf saw me and retreated to the woods. I lay next to my sisters wolf as I saw it shift into my sisters human body.
I shifted back as well.
" L-lily..." I said as my eyes threatened to spill tears.
"H-hey b-big s-s-sis..." She said looking at me while I held her in my arms.
" Hey lily stay with me I'll mind link the pack," I said
" L-lily just a few more minutes stay with me k? We'll have you better in no time " I said as my voice cracked
" D-don't bother A-alexis w-we both know t-the pack d-doctors w-won't make it," She said
" Lily you don't know that unless y-you stay with me" I said as my body began to shake
" I'm not s-stupid alexis y-you know it I know it, T-there's no time for m-me. P-promise me s-something a-alexis" she said lowly
" What is it little sis? " I said
" P-promise me y-you won't b-blame y-your s-self about m-my d-death please " she said while her emerald eyes streamed tears
" I-I promise..." I said to her while hugging her
" O-ok tell m-mommy and dad t-that I loved them with my l-last breath ok? " she said
" D-don't worry I will " I said telling her the truth
" O-ok I guess I'll d-die in peace r-right?" She managed to smile
" yeah " I forced a smile
" I-I love y-you sis..." She whispered as she finally closed her eyes with a smile on her face
" I- I love y-you too little s-sis..." I said as I sobbed my body racking with each breath I tried to take in knowing that my little sister would never come back.
I knew her wolf would never come back to play with mine. She wouldn't be there to comfort me. She died a peaceful death at least that's what she thought. I knew I promised her I would never blame myself about her death, but deep down I knew if I was stronger and faster I could have saved her. I now had more purposes to live. One support my pack, Two find my mate, Three raise a family, and four kill every damn rogue I come across and show them no mercy, especially the grey wolf who was the damned soul of my beloved little sisters death.
