Chapter 1
Lani P.O.V
“Come on Lani, not again this year. I thought we were growing up.” Ally whined at me. She, of course, was upset with me still wearing my hoodie everywhere I went.
“Ally, stop please just let me wear it,” I told her, my voice became stone so she knew I was serious. I always wore my red hoodie everywhere I went. I covered my face and, of course, I could still see I wasn’t blind.
I just didn’t like people looking at me, and faintly did I like looking at them. Honestly, I didn’t want to go to school at all. But Pro and Ally came over telling me I had to go no matter what.
“Come on Lani, let’s get to school.” I grabbed a random set of car keys, I had about ten cars in this house my parents left me in, I rarely drove them I like using my skateboard more. Walking quickly outside and swinging my bag over my shoulder, Pro and Ally followed after me.
I took off my hood so I see clearly when I drove. I looked in the mirror something I rarely do, I saw my snakebites were still in place, my black hair was in its normal curls swaying over to on the side. My green eyes staring back at me, and my cherry lips covered in strawberry chapstick.
I closed up the mirror and fired up the car. Shortly after a few minutes of driving, we all were at school. I pulled my hoodie up and walked into the building. I hated this school truth be told no one paid attention and someone was always getting bullied or hurt and no one did anything to stop it.
I didn’t do anything and quite frankly I have my reasons so don’t go judging me now. I walked to the office grabbed all my things and found my locker. I opened the locker stuffing all my things inside and went to class.
I didn’t even bother saying bye to Pro because he was too busy snogging off Desmond, his boyfriend’s face. Ally was maybe hanging out with Jackson her long-time crush.
I sat in the back of the classroom away from all the drama and trauma everyone caused each other. I got out my notebook and waited for the teacher. The teacher was about 5 mins late, like normal I guess nothing changes at Water Well High.
Suddenly she burst into the door with a long line of sorry’s. She introduced herself. Someone came in behind her, late to class. I thought. Probably his first year because no one shows up to class late no matter how bad they are.
“Uh...” He trailed off awkwardly. “Um my name is Keegan, sorry I came late I got lost and um I’m new here.” Suddenly his eyes landed on me and his brow twisted in confusion, he quickly masked with a charming smile.
“Alright Keegan, you can take a seat next to Lani he won’t bother you so don’t worry.” She said with a heartwarming smile.
Keegan finally came over and sat next to me. Ms. Green or Greg something I wasn’t paying attention to really, she started the lesson. Once the lesson got boring Keegan decided to talk to me. Why you may ask well I don’t know.
“How do you see with that on?” He asked. It was the typical question and I gave the most obvious answer.
“With my eyes, clearly.” I sassed back, he was being a jerk for asking me such a weird question. Like how do you see? It’s clearly not through your asshole.
“But your hood is covering it.” He reached out to touch it. I quickly put my arm up and caught his arm.
“Don’t you ever try and touch me,” I growled at him. Just then the bell rang and the class was over. I quickly rushed out of the classroom before he had the chance to say anything else.
