Dear Alice

They say life doesn't go as planned. That's what happened with Alice. She had so many plans for her life, but she failed in everything. She failed to be a good person, a friend, a lover. She failed to build a career for herself. She keeps thinking all her friends are well settled in her life and here she is still struggling with her job and career. Her boyfriend also dumped her because he cannot afford to be with a loser like her. She came to know from one of her friend that he is already seeing someone from his workplace.

She wanted to make her parents proud but all she did was to embarrass them. She just wanted to be successful like her Mom. Her parents are very loving and supportive but she thinks they love her too much that's why they're biased towards her.

All these thoughts were eating her inside completely. She cannot see any light towards the end of the tunnel. All she could think is when will all this end?

She is badly missing her mom, as she lost mom who was fighting with a cancer. The thought brought tears to her eyes. If her mom would have been here then she might laid her head on her mom's lap and closed her eyes. That's what she used to do when she was upset or depressed.

Her Dad is acting strong in front of her but she knows he misses her alot and at times she had seen him crying quietly while holding her photo.

So it's her 27th Birthday and she is in no mood to celebrate. All she is feeling is emptiness inside her. She wanted to be anywhere but here. While staring at the blank wall all she can think is that she is good for nothing, a loser, demotivated person.

Her thoughts were interrupted when there's a knock at the door. She took a deep breath and went to open the door. It was her Dad.

He was holding a box in his hand with a smile on his face. After a long time she has seen the genuine happiness on his face. How she wished she could feel the same. Anyway, she gave a fake smile to her dad so he couldn't get suspected about what's bothering her.

"Hey princess! I got something for you. Here it is". Her dad handed her the box.

She took the box from her Dad and then she noticed something. It was a label which was written as 'To My Lovely Ali'. It's not the words that shocked her. It was the handwriting that she cannot be mistaken is her Mom's.

Her breath got caught for a moment. She was baffled to see a gift from her Late Mother. Her eyes became watery and she looked at her Dad. He was already watching her with a faint smile on his face.

"Dad..What is..? How? When?" she was overwhelmed and couldn't form a proper words as she was struggling not to cry out loud.

"Your Mom gave this to me before leaving us, she wanted me to give you this on your birthday."

Her Dad understood her situation. "I have some work. I'll be back within few hours, just let me know if you need anything, ok Ali?" with that her Dad left her alone.

She closed the doors and moved towards bed as she was curious to see what was there inside the box.

She opened the box to reveal a beautiful Silver gown. The same gown which she liked in a store while shopping with her mom but due to high price she didn't buy that gown.

While looking at a gown, she noticed there was something else as well. It was an envelope. She got emotional again to see it was a letter from her Mom.

She put her gown aside and open that envelope. She took out the folded letter and opened. She took a deep breath and started reading the letter.

Dear Alice.......
