A Black Man's Pain

"Its an interesting but sad story. Able to pull the heartstrings and make your eyes sting at times. The description of charactors a bit vague but overall it suffice for me to paint a face to the picture. The sex scene was hot. Some of the word used may not be right for certain sentences for example, like 'there' father should be 'their' father but I found this to be pretty common for some writers here. Some of slang used may not be understandable for people who are not from this parts of the world. Then again , this is good story to highlight that good men do exist and men do get unappreciated too. Good Job as I truly do enjoy reading it so much. 👍👍👍"

No warnings, nothing

"I don’t like this book and the reason why I say this is that yes, Erwvin is going through it and we get to develop the way he is and we get to see eyes through his pain but this book needs to be re written. There are survivors of sexual abuse and I feel that as writers we have to show our readers that this relationship is not okay. For example, that woman in the yard - why did Ervin run. You walk past that but rather in reality it’s not like that - boys think about it, there’s sex Ed class and they talk about it and then they realise they are victims of abuse. But that was not shown, it was past and I feel like a lot of writers do this. They walk past the issue with text fillers of the people’s lives - they give snapshots but issues of abuse is not a snapshot. It’s rather sad and a harsh thing to deal with. Also I’m not happy that this book is secondary genre is a Thriller - how the heck is abuse a thriller? There’s no thriller themes and the plot doesn’t show signs of a thriller - it’s just drama but a Thriller no. It takes a few minutes to research on a Thriller - this doesn’t display a thriller. The writing isn’t appealing but very ‘online’ something you write to your girls or your pals 👯‍♀️ but this book has POTENTIAL. The idea is lovely but the description should be darker if you’re going to label it as a Thriller. Also, survivors deserve a warning. It’s not good enough to write without warning what’s in your book or what’s in your books themes. "
