Chapter 1
My story didn't start off on a warm summer night nor a magical morning either. No, my life started the day before all the magic and wonder; I was born were outside the wall the bitter cold would make you shiver. Snow fell softly with the white contrasting against the red and green theme that was common around this time of year. I took my time coming into this world perhaps I enjoyed the comfort of safety and preferred the warmth of what I knew instead of the unknown. Either way, much of what that day was has lingered with me to this day in some ways.
I stood by the platform for the train and much like that day the cold breeze made me shiver as I waited despite the winter coat I wore; except now I let myself enjoy the crisp weather. With every breath, a fog would appear relaxing my tense muscles and clouded mind from the long day I just had. I watched the snowflakes flutter down from the grey filled skies filled with not only clouds but tall skyscrapers that very much fulfilled their name. On days like these, I relish in my thought and wonder if others standing by in this city notice how they have become dragons with each breath or that on days like these the city is a bit quieter or that even though each one is covered with biggest jackets they still feel cold.
Just like that, the sound of the public train bell and people crowded the edge of the yellow line. Once the trained had stopped I stepped adjusting my scrubs from their loose feeling of them due to over-wearing them every day. With one ding of my phone, I no longer minded my clothing for my mind had sped to the idea and hope 'he' had texted me. With a smile on my face and changing hand positions, instead of holding my phone in one hand and now with both, I responded quickly to the message like I have always done fully knowing he could never be mine nor I to be his for many reasons but I allowed myself the idea of it.
