Chapter 1 : You changed
Lian Yu looked on as the shadow of the man she once loved more than herself disappear, but she felt nothing.
What led to this?
Well, we’ll need to go back to 24 hours ago, when Lian Yu sat on her couch, staring at the man she love cook her dinner. Even simply looking at his back created butterflies and she couldn’t wish for anything more.
However, her boyfriend, Hu Jianyang, did not feel the same. He slammed the bowl of barely cooked noodles on the table in front of Lian Yu and muttered under his breath,”Now are you happy? You took too much of my time. I got to go now, I have an important meeting to attend to.”
Lian Yu could feel her disappointment creep up on her but she tried to not let it affect her since she was always supportive of her boyfriend’s career. Hu Jianyang was a director in a small photography studio, and ever since a few months back, he had been attending more and more meetings.
Of course, our dear Lian Yu was too in love to notice anything. He simply told her that since their studio was getting more fame, clearly the higher-ups would want more meetings to discuss issues. Lian Yu thought nothing of this. She believed anything her boyfriend told her. And that is, of course, why he always got away with anything. No matter what Hu Jianyang told Lian Yu, she would believe him with all her heart. She never used to be this rash, but when she started to date Hu Jianyang 3 years back, everything about her changed. She lost her pride, her dignity, and most importantly, herself. She became more submissive, anything her boyfriend said was exactly what she did. Hence why he has been able to get away with everything; Lian Yu never doubted him. Never had she thought that her so called perfect boyfriend was actually a scumbag that always took advantage of the situation to put the blame onto someone else. He grabbed his coat, and turned to look at Lian Yu.
“I won’t be coming home tonight, I will stay at a friend’s house.”
Lian Yu simply nodded obediently. Recently, this has happened at least 5 times a week. She was already used to it.
She reached out to give him a hug but before she hugged him, the door was viciously slammed in her face.
Her right pointer finger got jammed in the door and she let out a little moan of pain as she examined it. Her finger was already starting to bruise and swell and because of the splinters from the door, her finger was also cut multiple times. It was truly a horrible sight; bruises and blood never made a good combination. Despite all this, she was too afraid to contact Hu Jianyang about it, in case she might distract him, so she just went to get some ointment to put onto her finger. However, because she was right handed, it was very difficult for her to apply the ointment with her left hand. She let a scream of agony, in order to release her stress. At this point, her finger was almost the size of a sausage, and the pain was unbearable. Although only her finger was affected, her head had started to throb painfully. She picked up her phone and barely managed to punch a number into her phone.
“Hello this is Feng Lu Corporations, what may we help you with?”
“Help... help me... “
“Hello, ma’am, what can we help you with, are you in danger??”
That was the last thing Lian Yu heard before the world turned black.
