The United States have been split in half for decades now. The East rules the West, everyone was brought up to know that. If they didn't, the giant wall that separated the two sides made it clear. The East was prosperous, while the West was the slums. They lived in harmony until the West wanted even more power than before, in the form of killing everyone on the East. Some of the people on the West had people they still cared about on the East, though. People they would do anything to save.
