Hanako was merely just a child when she develop her crush for Neji.
Neji came over to Hinata's to chat on things when he had time to spare. Not only that, he wanted to see Hanako, his beloved neice. Hanako loved her uncle so very much that when Hinata once suggested that Hanako should go live with Neji. Of course Hinata was only joking at the time, but little Hanako took it seriously and beamed out in excitement hugging her uncles legs. He felt her move her head away from his chest, revealing her puffy eyes. He smile knowing he had her attention, "You can marry me instead, would that be better... princess?" Hanako stoped and sniffled her running nose, her puffy, red eyes staring into her uncles pale and reassuring eyes. In a instant, her eyes glimmered with their usual spark when she looked at him.

Today was another day he could visit his family but arrived late, due to his long mission. That didn't let him not make it to his nieces 13 birthday. Once arrived at his cousin place, Neji could hear music being played in the background along with footsteps approaching. The door gently opened then swung open. " Oh! Ohayo Neji-San. Gald you could be able to make it. Yes, I think Hanako is in her room.. hmmm" Naruto said rubbing his chin with his prosthetic hand. Neji looked at him with curiosity. "Now that I really think about it," Naruto started, "She hasn't came out of her room in a while, so can you go check up on the birthday girl please. I'm kinda busy." He finished shifting his eye to my uncle. I gave him a reassuring nod.
"Of course"
Neji then proceeded upstrairs to Hanako's room, fleeing from the booming laughter and conversations Naruto, Hinata and the other Hyuga's were exchanging. Neji was at her door before another memory spraked into his head. He smile at it and felt a bliss feeling in his chest. It was shaken off instantly when he heard the voice of Hanako's.

Neji nearly had a heart attack once he saw what she was doing.

" Huh Otosan!? Uncle Neji what are you two doing out here?!" Hanako's spoke, her voice laced with a bit of surprise yet her face full of worry..
"sweetheart it's about time!" Naurto yelled. " What where you doing in there?" He question. She was at a lost for words but was interrupted again but her father. "Anyways, you should come down, guests are waiting to greet you." He finshied off, while Neji stared at the ground ignoring her eyes a tint of pink on his cheeks.
" oh ! I was just dressing up you know, making sure I looked presentable for our family." Hanako lied, with a closed eye smile fooling her father easilym
"Ok than kiddo, come down when you're ready." Naruto rushed down the stairs leaving Neji and Hanako alone in the hallway.

Everyone clapped and digged into their food happily enjoying their meal.

Little Hanako idoled and admired her uncle in a way she praised to be and promised after the day Neji said that they could get married that they would have plenty of kids together and love eachother forever. That sounded to much for a mear child to be saying but Hinata or Naruto for that matter never noticed and encouraged her to stay away from all the boys in her class and promising them that she could only love Neji and them and no one else beside them, Hanako agreed and ever since than she become much closer to her uncle she loved so much.
And ever since he said those words to his precious neice he became more distant with her, missions piling up after another only having to see her and Hinata for a few short times before heading out on another long mission. But when he did come over Neji noticed some things that changed about Hanako, she became more affectionate around him from the long periods he was gone she did miss him a lot more than he thought she would off.
Little Hanako did this every time Neji would come back after a rocky mission injured she would rush a med kit and heal him like a nurse would sitting in his big lap applying medical substances to his cuts and he would always enjoy the feeling of her tiny hands on him ( not in that way of course)and how after she was done she would comb her uncles long hair she like very much and sometimes put up braids in his hair and showed it off to her mother afterwards smiling of her work.
Oh how much he missed having her around him and how much happiness radiated from her lifting his mood right away, but that changed after a few years when she turned 11 and stuck in her room longer and rarely came out only to have lunch go to school or see Neji. He was extremely surprised at her mood change and how touchy she started to be with him when he came over to a talk with Hinata, Neji remembered clearly that she would sit on his lap ( even if she was a bit to old for that) and hung her arms around her uncles neck.

Neji got up and rushed to his walk in closet to get clothing for her to sleep in grabbing his own shirt and sweatpants he knew would be to big for her but knew that she wouldn’t want to wear Ten-Tem’s only Neji’s she would be comfortable in. Neji laid back against her and tapped her shoulder softly whispering into her ear “ you should change sweetheart “ and laid out his clothes on the edge of the bed.
She didn’t move, it almost seems like she was dead.Neji’s heart stoped for a split second
“ Hanako?”
“ mmm” a whimper escaped from her, right now she looked miserably tired
“ I... Cant... it hurts...” Neji arched an eyebrow
“ what hurts ?”
“ .....” she was silent and the only thing heard was her soft breathing, there was an uncomfortable silence and Neji decided on what he should do.After a few seconds of skin to skin contact Neji pulled away from her small and cold body and rolled her over on her back.
“ this will be quick I promise.. Just please sit up for me so I can undress you “ Hanako obeyed her uncle and sat up slowly and steadily Neji holding into the small of her back, a sudden hiss escaped from her plumb lips and she clutched her eyes shut. The only thing Neji could do was hug her tightly and comb thru her deep inky hair that she possessed from the Hyuga’s side.

Did that sound only wrong to him? he could see that no one else heard the hidden meaning behind her words, she was a good actor at hiding that too adding to no ones suspicions. Before Neji could respond or deny he got pulled away by the 13 old up the stairs down the dark hall and pushed him into her room to do god knows what.
