This is amazing

"This is a great story and I thought this was very well written. Even though things were kind of obvious from the start, still keeps you hooked until the very last chapters. The short back stories of the characters were also very well done. It feels familiar but also different. Which is always a good thing. A few suggestions for the author : (For the sake of giving constructive feedback) It would be great to have some reasons for why they left Blake at the house unattended like that. Also while the victim was tied and free to scream. The two sisters compliance, even when their sister was murdered felt odd. (We know they are afraid, but still that was weird) Anyway this was a great read. I would recommend this to anyone. Glad I found this."

Repugnant... but in a good way

"I have read through all the chapters of this short novel on a single breath and can now concur that it's brilliantly written! Writing in first-person POV is never an easy task because you have to walk the reading audience view the plot development through eyes of one of the main characters and at the same time make sure it feels believable and authentic. In my opinion, 'You are what you eat' handles this task perfectly. I was really glad that the language of this work isn't overly eloquent or sophisticated and the entire narration really does feel like a retelling of the story in the own words of a 17-year old teenager (for the most part). At the same time, all the necessary artistic devices and methods are there - it's suspenseful, dramatic, nerve-tingling, disturbing and many other things in all the right moments, just like a good thriller/horror story is supposed to be. And I was also very pleasantly surprised with the way you handled the very complicated topic of cannibalism n this story. This thing is quite revolting and profane in itself and scavenging on all the details might easily drive it overboard. You managed to maintain a perfect balance by revealing just enough to instill angst into the readers, yet not overdoing this and making it plain-out obscene and explicit. Also, another pleasant surprise for me was the fact that for all its darkness and negativity, this story wasn't completely without its heartfelt moments, like Anne's repentance or reconciliation between Blake and his big brother. I believe that in novels centered around the topic of unfathomable lows humanity can sink to, it's especially important to leave some room for hope and show there's always a light at the end of the tunnel. Altogether, a nearly picture-perfect short horror novel, barely anything about it I can critique or contest. All I can do is sincerely thank you for uploading this stuff to Inkitt and letting me and everybody else enjoy it here. Congratulations on creating a masterpiece! Wishing you every success with your further writing! "

"I loved this story!!! i loved the fact that Anne stood up to her psychotic sister. if you were to make another one I would definitely read it. Maybe in the second one is where one of the sisters escaped jail and went after looking for the survivors and the one who snitched on her. You did a very good job on this story."

You Are What You Eat.

"Hi Katie This story shows great potential. I expected Blake to investigate the parcel in the fridge at his first opportunity. Some parts of your story were hard to follow. The girls wouldn't leave Blake alone in the house if they had someone hidden in the cellar. Why didn't they leave Blake's clothes for him; they would have gone into the first wash earlier in the story. Blake would be more likely to check out the cellar before showering. Where was Anne's POV, and what is a POV? Blake was alone in the house so he couldn't know what was said or done at the POV. What was the reason for the POV? You had some great backstory about the girls. Wouldn't Colleen have told Blake they were foster sisters when she introduced them? If I'd been Blake, I would have disappeared as far from the house as possible, the first chance I had. Perhaps Nancy told Blake something about the girls that convinced him to leave. Nancy would never have gone into the house after ringing the cops. Why would Blake's older brother suddenly turn up? It's unlikely the brothers would change, so why did Blake go back? I hope my comments have helped you. Keep writing. This could be a masterpiece. If you would like to review my book, ‘Who’s There?’, here is the link.
