Chapter 1

The cold seeping in, the viridescent plants rustling in the silence. The patter of footsteps down the turning, twisting wooden steps, down the pathway and onward. The smell of the pine infesting the nose, freshening. She made her way down to him. To destroy him, she knew everything. The weeds between the pine soft on her feet. Once at the bottom she found him down near the spa. Fresh steaming water filled with lily petals and no scented candles were needed the plants around were enough. The house was so easily inviting, sucking you in with her charm. She had a spell on the place. With her beckoning red dress and candy lips, the same could be said for the house with its red warm bricks and cool lake surrounding it. It absorbs people. For each honey orange leaf that fell each autumn would be how many people were consumed. Now as she soaked in the water, she breathed in his life, a glow of black mist excreted from his pores. Every ounce she consumed until he was but an empty, unfeeling shell. Until the next. Until the lust ended.

Do you ever feel so empty that you can’t see or feel, like a greenhouse with no plants, a white building seemingly so pure and clean but on the inside, it’s cold, dark and no life sprouts. just a vast infinite void, withered, dark and empty. Were only ghosts of life remain and drown. And now that you’re gone I feel as if there will never be life again, I tried so hard to get things to grow but only drown it, even the fertiliser won’t work. This greenhouse of mine is empty and lifeless. But what if you were the dampness in the soil that drowned all the plants?
