Chapter 1

Terror. Disgust. I don’t really know. It’s kind of a toss-up when you wake up covered in blood. Their kingdom of Alite was at war with the kingdom of Jaru. It has been going on for centuries and no one could foresee the end. In the kingdom of Alite, there was a combat school preparing people for missions and battles.

Amelia, a very strong-willed and determined girl attending A.Academy, was on her way to her one-on-one combat class. She wasn’t very respected in her school. She didn’t really care, as long as she passed the classes. As long as she passed and got her own mission she would finally be happy.

Amelia's POV:

When I walked into the gym, no one was there yet. I got dressed and bandaged my hands and feet. Just as I sat on a mat, my classmates started showing up. I got ready and sat down too until the teacher walked in.

"Today, we will be working on self-defense," announced Mr.Bruner "please find yourself a partner and get on a mat". I didn't have any friends in this class so I waited until only one other person was left and like usual, it was Noah. He was 'okay' at one-on-one combat. He was more of a brain than muscle type of guy.

"Hey, Amelie! Looks like we're partners again" he said while running to me. I gave him a small smile and got into a guard position.

At the end of the day, I put most of my class books into my locker and started walking to my dorm room. It was a single on the right side of campus. The room wasn't very decorated since I was busy all the time. I had simple little lights and pictures of old friends and family across her walls.

I stopped and looked a the pictures for a minute. I thought of what my family must think of me now and how proud they had been when I got accepted to A.Academy. My dad was throwing me into the air while my mum was making cupcakes to celebrate. My little brother was playing on the floor with baby toys. It was so perfect back then...
She felt as if she had just woken up from a daze and started to get ready for bed slowly.
