Prologue
Dalesby had been the Reid family home for generations. But with more than twenty children, several of mating age they had no choice but to move. Once upon a time Dalesby had dozens of shifter families but now the Reid family were the last left.
It wouldn’t be so bad if they could find a mate in the Human population but that almost never happened.
That was why the Reid’s were relocating to Castleton, a large town surrounded by forests and fields. Hunting and pouching is banned.
Making it perfect for most species of shifter. Which was why it was rumoured to have the highest numbers of shifters living there or nearby.
Mr and Mrs Reid had spent months looking for the perfect place before finding out about the town.
Humans aren’t aware shifters, so it wasn’t exactly advertised online.
Luckily for them, they were well off and found a new property quickly. It was an estate of a old family. The line had died out and the whole estate was being sold.
