Chapter 1
Kells had just finished scrambling my cheese eggs when the kitchen door opened. Everyone looked at him when he placed the plate down in front for me. Then they watched and waited as I ate the first bite. The room grew insanely silent as we waited to see if I could keep it down. Nothing happened, so I took another bite. Emma put the kettle on just in case. I took a third bite of eggs and kept it down. “Well Baby girl I guess you were right. She did want eggs”, he smiled. “Wait, she?” Lily spoke up. “Yes mom, she thinks the baby is going to be a girl,” Kells answered. He fixed a cup of coffee before lifting me up returning me to his lap. I fed him a bite of eggs then ate a bite myself. Shell poured Tommy some more coffee, as Jon pour Emma and I some apple juice. Then Betty fixed our parents plates as Dave poured their drinks before they joined us. “May we have some more please?” I asked as he placed his hand gently on my tummy, “Baby let’s take it slow. I will fix you some more for lunch if you still want them.”
The party guests were starting to wake up around lunch time. Soon the kitchen was filled with people eating breakfast. Some of them took their plates and returned to the fire while others sipped coffee waiting on the shower. While Lily and Don just watched in awe. The guys helped clean the kitchen once the organized chaos was complete. That afternoon was filled with games like beer pong, football, and board games while others had pulled out a few TV’s for Gaming. It was getting close to Dinner time when Lily and Don decided to go ahead and tell the kids.
Lily gathered their children into the great room. “Okay so your dad and I had a long talk last night. We were going to wait until tomorrow night”, she said before Don spoke up. “We’re very impressed with how all of you run things around here.” He stated. “You have taken care of this house better than we ever did at your age.” Lily added. “Your mom and I have decided that tomorrow you can move into each other’s rooms if you like.” Don finally told us. We jumped up hugging them. “Thank you, mom, dad” Kells said for him and I. “However,” Don said cutting the celebration short. “We already have one baby coming into the house we do not want another one right now. So, if you need protection just ask.”
Lily spoke next, “Kells, Loyalty one of your bedrooms will be the nursery. We have talked about maybe adopting another teen couple or making the other room a guest bedroom.” “We realized how hard it must have been for all of you to hide your love for one another from us for so long. We figured maybe we could help others that are like you lot.” Don said to their children. “Now let’s enjoy the rest of the weekend, but sorry kids Sunday is move room day so you will all have to have date night on Monday instead.” Lily said as started to go back to the party. That night Lily and Don cooked dinner for all the kids and their guests. While the guys set up the tables and the girls decorated. Tonight, we celebrated Love.
Kells held me in his arms as he looked across the table at his family. He saw their joy, heard their laughter as it filled the air. Colson finally had what he had longed for. He had finally found his place in the world, and now he was going to be a father. He vowed to make them both proud. He would love them every day like it was his last. K smiled as he slipped a ring onto her finger while no one was looking. She turned to look at him with a smile, whispering yes. Before turning turned back to her conversation with Emma and Betty. Jon looked at Kells whom nodded. Jon patted him on the shoulder as a quite gester of congratulations. Everything finally felt normal.
They all the kids had been through so much in their short lifetime. I had told them somethings that I had been through, but that just scratched the surface. I knew I would have to tell him everything at some point just not tonight. I wasn’t about to damper the evening not while. everyone was so happy. Kell was so happy right now I didn’t want to spoil it. I knew that there would be a million questions to answer soon enough, but for now I wanted to enjoy my new family. As the evening grew to a close the guys gathered their things and went to their girlfriend's rooms.
Kells turned the light off before climbing into bed and pulling me closer. I snuggled up into his arms as I looked at my engagement ring. “When how did you do this?”, I asked softly. He kissed my forehead, “Betty and Jon. After I dropped you off at school about a month ago. Betty met me at the store, then Jon picked it up for me Friday morning. I was going to wait, but after I thought, I was going to lose you. I couldn’t wait anymore.” I grinned slightly. “Well I love it, just like I love you. Dad is going to kill us”, I laughed. K sat up pulling me up onto his lap, “Nah it’s not like we’re getting married tomorrow, unless....” he tailed off. “NO, Don would fall over dead of a heart attack. I’m good with waiting is fine.”. “True”, he said pulling covers up around us, “We better get some sleep. Moving day starts in a few hours.” We dozed off filled undying love.
We were awoken by a knock on our door. It was Shell, “Good morning mom and dad, breakfast is on the table. We have a lot to do today so get to moving.” She closed the door. I was so tired, but I had to get up, Kells helped me get ready and down the stairs. I was still having moments of dizziness, so the doctors had me on bed rest. They said the baby and I were fine, but I needed to take it easy for a couple more weeks to get out the danger zone. They had me on high-risk watch since I was having seizures, a diabetic, and the miscarriage. We ate breakfast, then went back to my room. Kells pulled the drawers out the dresser for me to rearrange them and add his clothes, as he put his other stuff into my closet. Then he set up his music equipment on the desk while I rested. Everyone was moved to their new rooms by lunch time.
Shell came up to tell us that we were going out for lunch. She knocked on the door and waited for an answer. When she didn’t hear anything, she cracked the door open slightly to find us snuggled up in each other’s arms sleeping. “Awes”, she said softly to herself as she walked in covering us up gently before quietly leaving the room. “We can go on ahead. I left them a note in case they woke up before we got back,”, she said as Tommy slipped her jacket over her shoulders. “We’ll bring them something back”, he repelled. “Everyone is already outside in the car.” Tommy said as he locked the door behind them. “I wished they could have joined us,” their dad said as he pushed Lily’s chair in for her, “Sushi is Loyalty favorite.”
“Dear I’m not sure she can eat it right now,” Lily responded as she looked up at him sweetly. “Ah, that’s right where is my head today.” Tommy chuckled, “That is probably the only thing she actually could keep down too, oh the irony.” They had started talking about planning a baby shower as their food arrived. “It’s too early to start planning innit?”, asked Dave. All the girls said “No” at the same time, then laughed. Dave stuck his hands up in surrender, “Okay it was just a question sheesh” “It’s not like we can’t start planning a surprise baby shower now”, Lily added. “Maybe we can do a small Holiday when Loyalty is feeling more up to it.” Don added.
