Highly leathal disease better discribed in the Dr.woods. the red plaug originated from a bacteria that often lethal to it's host was found in red wood trees first stage was just redused appetite second stage was being more of a people person than usual then spending more time outside in the sun finally in one day your skin would harden and crack and then you slowy bleed to death making your skin look like wood covered in blood
