The Prophecy

Alexandria, Egypt
Cleopatra’s Reign
It all began with a remorseful queen. Cleopatra. Having defeated and conquered her brothers for the city of Alexandria. She allowed the city to celebrate and revel in the glory of their victory. However she did not. She was filled with regret and remorse for what she and her army had done. She drank to drown her sorrows, but nothing would ease her pain. She stood upon her balcony; gazing at the star as she had done for years prior to her return.
Begging that her god would give her a chance of redemption; a guard entered her chamber. She wiped the tears from her face then proceeded to ask him why was he not basking in the glory of the night. Kareem replied in disbelief “Your brother has requested an audience with you”. The queen froze. She then laughed and said what sick and twisted lie do you tell. Kareem remained silent; his face said it all. The queen quickly replied “bring the imposter in”. Kareem summoned the man into the room. As the door opened; the queen felt a chill up her spine. A familiar face entered the room; the face of her brother. In an instance; the queen's face turned from humorous to fear. As she feared her brother was in fact still alive.
She asked Decius “how is this possible; what dark magic is this?”. Decius replied “A magic older than creation itself”. The queen stood in silence. He then proceeded to say “Don’t worry my queen; Although I am the incarnate of Chaos. I have come to deliver a prophecy”. The queen then questioned to why he appeared to look the way he did. He answered “What you see before you is but an illusion. My glamour appears to you and all in the form of what you long for the most. In your case I appear to be one of your fallen brothers”. The shaken queen then asked “what is this prophecy you have for me”. Decius then asked that they spoke in privacy. The queen declined and said “Kareem is my most trusted guard and advisor; he will stay”. Decius replied “very well”. At the snap of his fingers; the lamps were extinguished. The room was then filled with a black smog; and in the center lied a vision of the stars. Decius began to speak. He said “On this night; a star will fall in the East. Of that star a child will be born; a girl. This child will and can be one of two things. Your greatest redemption or your undoing. However it all depends on the choices you make going past this night”. The queen asked “why me?. Decius exclaimed “you asked your gods for redemption. Although they didn’t hear it. I did. You may do what you want with this prophecy. You may say I’m full of shit and continue with your life; but every decision has a path of reactions behind it. So do what you must”. The queen agreed. Decius snapped his fingers, and at that moment the queen came to as though she never had an audience; still star gazing on the balcony.
Denying that anything had ever happened; she looked up again. Only to notice a bright flash of light. A light so beautiful; if it were a stone it’d be worth more than all the gold and jewels in the city. Then it hit her; she had just watched the star fall as fortold. In a panic she ran to Kareem and ordered him to bring forth the Angels of Anubis. The Angels of Anubis was her most elite generals. Ankhar, the Tracker, Nasief the Swordsman, Uneah the Archer, Bellion the Seeer, Ignis the Scholar, and Somas the Curator. All led by Kareem. Kareem and the Angels gathered in the throne room; awaiting their queens order’s. The queen Entered and pulled Kareem aside. She whispered to him “the revelation that you had in a dream is true. You will speak nothing of this to no one else; this dies with you”. He replied “as you wish, my queen”. They return to the throne room. The queen says “there is a child; a girl. She was born tonight in one of the East neighboring city’s. You have seven days to find her and bring her to me. Do not return without her; in fact if you do not find her end yourself. I need not of your incompetence. She is not to be harmed”. Ankhar asked “what about the girl’s Family; there’s no way they’ll just give up their newborn”. The queen replied “do what you must; she’ll never know”. Having received their orders; Kareem and the Angels saluted their queen and marched away.
For six days death and destruction raged on in the neighboring cities. Men women and children slain; all in search for the child. They were ruthless; killing all who wouldn’t expel any information that would lead them to the child. However some were weak. When offered a chance for their families to live some would give up any and all information they had. They were allowed to live, but to live a life of servitude to the queen. In doing so Kareem and the Angels came close but still couldn’t locate the girl.
Surrounded by courpses; they all ate and drank wine as the sun set.Believing that they would have to end their own lives. They bantered on questioning if they had already killed her unknowingly. Uneah then exclaimed “why are we even out here?. If the queen wants a child I’ll give her one.” Triggered Kareem drew his dagger and swiftly placed it upon Uneah’s throat. He then said “ I’ll end you myself, if you ever speak of the queen in that nature.” Before he removed his dagger he noticed a bright gold light shining on the blade. He turned around and noticed a bazaar on the hill behind him with the light shining from its cracks. Immediately they made their way to the shop. As they entered the bazaar; her presence could be felt in the room as thought they were wading through a pool of warm water. Although for Kareem it was a totally different experience he was engulfed in a light only he could see. Kareem this explains why it took so long for us to find her. The Angels couldn’t see the light for they were too far gone down the path of darkness. Kareem asked the shop keep “where is the girl?”. The keep replied which one; I have a multitude of sculptures. Out of anger the Angels destroyed all the sculptures. Kareem then said “I don’t want to hurt you, but if you don’t answer I’ll have no choice but to send you to the Angels”. The keep then turned to the bookshelf behind him and removed a book. The shelf moved to the side and a path was revealed. The path lead to a home hidden away. Where his wife three children waited eating. Kareem and the angels entered the room; and the children fled to their mothers side. The wife asked her husband “what was going on?”. The keep replied “their here for the girl”. His wife exclaimed “No!”. Nasief slapped her down. Enraged the keep attempted to fight but he was ended by Somas. The wife wept; then exclaimed “please anything but the children”. Uneah then lifted the wife to her feet and said “no need to worry; where is the child we seek”. The wife replied “in the manger”. Uneah thank the woman; then with the. flick of his finger across her throat she too had come to an end. As the blood soaked Uneahs feet; he questioned “where are the rest of the children”. Kareem said No! They will be forced into slavery. They rounded up the children and made their way to the manger. When they reached the manger Kareem ordered the Angels to stay outside. Kareem entered and was in awe of what he was seeing. A child so beautiful that even the gods would be jealous. He took the child. Returned to Alexandria; where the impatient queen awaited. Kareem presented her to the queen. Like Kareem, the queen also saw a gold glow emitting from the child. The queen began to hold the child; she then questioned why the other three children were there. Kareem replied that they were new slaves. She stared at him then proceeded to her bedchambers.
She glared at the child. Deciding on whether to destroy her or raise her into her advisory. The queen decided to destroy her; she drew her dagger and tried to stab it through the girl's heart. However as soon as the blade came to her chest it turned to dust. Shocked the queen decided to keep her alive or long enough to find a way to destroy her. The queen then gave her the name “Delphine”.....
