Amelia

The ringing of my alarm starts to go off waking me up from the dream i had. I grab my pillow and stuff it in my face for a few more minutes but with the continous buzzing makes me groan.

"Are you serious" quickly jumping off my bed turning it off then to check myself in the mirror cringing at my reflection

"I need a haircutt" i mutter

I head downstairs to get some breakfast for the day "hello mumsie" i kiss her cheek walking over to the mugs to get some coffee but tea is soo much better.

"Goodmorning dear. Have you checked the mailbox yet?"

"Nope i haven't" i quickly grab a toast bread from my mum's plate heading out the door

I pop the lid off checking for the same old ding bat mail and grab all the mail inside to the house. Probably some electric bills and water payments if you ask me.

I sort the mail on the table and my mum gets closer to me to check if i got the approval

"Well?. the card isn't gonna open itself dear. Go on" i look at the card hesistantly hoping i got the chance.

I close my eyes and open the envelope slightly finally opening my eyes to read the letter.

"Oh bloody diplits" i say jumping up and down "i got in" i squeal

My mum finally joins in and kisses me in the forehead "I'm so proud of you sweet heart"

I smile in her comment finally looking back at the card.

You start classes beginning next week. When your off the flight you'll be guided by james and he will be holding a sign. Which will be your host family. Hope to see you in canada!.

"What about my friends and the school here, what am i gonna do mumsie?" I ask in worriedly tone

"You will not turn down that offer you hear me young lady, you've worked so hard or this." She said Putting her hand on my chin

"Yet i have to travel mum and i will leave you all alone and my frie-" i get cutt off as i run back in forth

"Lia, relax dear.we'll skype." I start laughing at my mum's comment

"But you don't know how to use it and who will take care of you?. Abby?"

I hear footsteps walk downstairs "what's all this bloody commotion about?"

"We'll manage. Go pack. We've been preparing for this for two years"

"Your leaving amelia?" She looks at me baffled

"This was gonna happen sooner or later sis, but i will come and visit i promise you.

"You have to then promise to talk to me every weekend on skype."

"Will do." I say nuding her shoulder delicately

"We will miss you terribly" my sister hugs finally my mom joining in to hug me

"Me too"

Hello there !. How was this first chapter?. This is my first story here and hope you chose this book to add to your collection. Yeah this sweet family is british but i'm not here to insult anyone or do any mockery with giving them accents.

I've always found it fascinating to have an accent it just sounds so cool, but i'm not doing this to insult anyone. Don't judge please. I'll try my best.
