Priya’s POV
Ranjith! Ranjith! Ranjith! Ranjith!
Everyone in the crowd was saying his name and I was sitting in the edge of my seat, I was nervous because who is going to win in this football match, the most important game in our sports day. Our computer science department was on top of the list to win the trophy but this match is very important to win that or it may finish in the draw.
The match was in tie and Ranjith was going to kick the penalty shot, he came near the ball and kicked straight into the net and it was a goal, luckily the goalkeeper missed to catch the ball. It was a huge moment where everyone started to shout out loud and celebrated the victory, they all carried Ranjith and he was showing his beautiful smile to everyone. I looked at him and smiled seeing him.
“What a great guy he is”, my friend Shakthi said to me.
“Yes he’s a good player”, I said without showing my admiration for him.
“How can he kick all the three goals, he’s really talented”, she said again.
“OK OK we are having classes so let’s go”, I said and stood up from my seat.
While leaving I looked at him again he was crowded by girls of our department they were all congratulating him and I also wanted to do that but I can’t, because I don’t want any rumors around me and I also don’t want to add me in his fan followers, it really sucks.
I am Priya, studying in my second year of computer science engineering. I worked really hard to get in this college, my college is one of the topmost colleges in my city for engineering, only toppers can get into this college.
When I first came here I don’t know anything about the college and it took a year for me to mingle with everyone in my class and to know about my department. I was always a smart student in my class and the topper of my class till now. My professors always encouraged me a lot
In my college life, I liked everything and another thing that I liked more is Ranjith. I had a crush on him when the very moment I saw him in this college, in fact, he’s the first person I met in this college.
Flashback
When I first came to college I don’t where is my class is but I can’t find anyone in my way then I saw a guy walking before me I went near him.
“Excuse me”, I said.
He turned, I was stunned god what a beautiful guy he is I never saw anyone be this beautiful. Then I brushed off my thoughts.
"Do you know where is the first-year computer science class”, I asked.
"Oh go straight and turn right, in upstairs your class”, he said.
Before I could thank him he walked away from me then in few seconds he vanished from my eyes.
Then I went to my class, everyone was talking among themselves I went and sat in the second desk Shakthi was sitting next to me she smiled at me and asked my name. Then we introduced ourselves. The day went off, my class professors came and informed about the subjects and gave an intro to them.
After a lunch break, three guys and two girls came into our class. I saw him again seeing him my heart started to beat faster, I looked at him and he looked at me and turned away like he doesn’t know me.
He started to speak,
"Hi everyone this is Ranjith your senior studying second-year guys“, he said and smiled.
I am the department chairman if you have anything that you want to say you can come and meet me in my class when there’s a break, he said and talked about teachers and our participation in the events, I not even listening to anything and only looking at him. Then the girls behind me asked his number and he wrote his number on the board for everyone to see.
Then others started to speak they all said us to socialize with others and to participate in every competition. Then they all left.
"That guy Ranjith looking good“, Shakthi said.
I just smiled and every girl in my class noted his number but I didn’t because I don’t want anything to fill my mind other than my studies.
Even though I built a wall around my heart but Ranjith broke every brick on that wall and filled my heart.
It was my first year-end time there’s a football match I was in the library then Shakthi messaged to come to the playground then I decided to go there.
There was a huge crowd on the football pitch there were more both boys and girls and even some professors were there, so I called her to ask where she is, then she came.
She already put a spot on the bench so we went and sat in that.
"Why you called me“, I asked her.
"Hey today is an important match you know Ranjith is playing and our department is going to win”, she said.
"Oh", I said and looked around to see where Ranjith is, he was standing there and looking at other players and signaling them to stand properly. Seeing him I smiled.
I never showed my admiration for Ranjith to anyone, especially Shakthi.
Then the match went well Ranjith got two goals and won the special trophy. Every girl in our college was shouting his name and I looking at his charmingness, Really he’s something, I thought. At that moment he has become my crush.
Then the year went off like this I got two chances to talk with him, but just about event preparation. And he asked my name at that meeting. He was really a great leader and I like his friendliness among others.
But at that same time, I heard that he had three girlfriends in the two years and he’s a brat, playboy, etc so I stopped to think about him and thought I should stay away from him.
End of flashback...
“Hey Priya you know our class Thanu she broke up with Mr playboy”, Shakthi said to me.
Mr playboy was Ranjith it was his nickname that I kept for him. Recently my classmate said that she was in a relationship with the senior. First I felt jealous and then I felt angry but it is the nature I thought.
“Oh I see”, I said but deep inside I was happy.
“Mr playboy is really something god....” Shakti said to me and sat on the bench, it was the place we used to study and there’s no disturbance here at the same time it was near the ground. Everyday evening Ranjith used to practice here on the ground. I sometimes glanced at him and after finishing his practice he leaves the college in his car. And I leave sometime after him but mostly before him.
Even though I decided to throw him out of my mind but somewhat it is nice to think about him so I keep doing that. It was the beginning of the third semester and I am busy with my studies.
One day I was sitting on the same bench and on that day Shakthi was absent due to fever. I was just sitting and listening to my favorite song then I feel someone presence at my side so I turned to see who it was, I was shocked because I never expected him.............
