Chapter 1
Life back in Mississippi was amazing. Everything was easy, everything was simple, and I had friends. We recently moved to Chicago because all of my family lived here and for some other things, but my mom hasn’t told me anything. I start school tomorrow. Nobody knows me and once they do they’ll hate me. I’m way to nerdy and annoying for everybody there, but my mother insists. What happens if I get a swirly in the toilet, or get laughed at in the middle of class? I don’t even know what teachers I’m getting. Also, what about the school dances? I’m going to be the lamest person in the school if I don’t go to those, but who am I gonna go with? I’m gonna have a long ride through 8th grade.
