Chapter 1

“The first group to be tested are the children borne of head families. From the first clan: Ms. Mayari Silvers and Ms. Aylin Silvers. From the Second Clan: Dianna Mare and Neila Mare. And from the last clan: Hecate Aldrin” Came booming voice announced in a crowded area. It came from an old guy standing at the big temple doors. He is Faunus XIX Dempsey. He had 2 horns protruding on his forehead. He is the current head of the only clan supporting Pan, the Greek god of the wild, shepherd, and flocks. Their clan resides within the forest surrounding the Plateau where the three clans that worship the moon currently reside on.

The ladies were ushered inside the temple. The inside is painted with silvery-white paint, adorned with gold linings at the borders. There were three marble statues erected in the room, they were the goddesses associated with the moon, Selene, Hecate, and Artemis. Canals are flowing under each statue which meets in a small basin in the middle of the room. The ceiling is a dome with a hole in the middle, where the moon can be seen at its highest peak.

"Here is a Silver Fleece, harvested from the flock of silver sheep of Pan. You are to soak those fleece in this basin. If it glows in white or silver you are one of the incarnations of the Greek goddesses. Another test will separate the incarnations as it will determine who possibly is Selene, Artemis, and Hecate among you. And those who pass will be nurtured to be the goddess."

"Please Ladies, get your fleece from the priestesses. And surround the Basin." The ladies followed the instruction.

"Dip the fleece and let then let it sit on the top of your palm." They did, and in a few seconds, four of the fleece glows in bright silvery-white light. And one had a dull golden yellow.

University of the Ascension

This is bullshit she thought as she clenched the letter in her hand. In no way will she will enter this ridiculous school, she gave up that goal a decade ago. In no way SHE will leave her dearest mother alone. It’s not like she is an incarnation of any goddesses or identity of the Greek myths.

“What is it, Mayari?” Her Mother, Althea - who is sitting in a wheelchair, asked her. The young lady hurriedly crumpled the letter in her hands and threw it in the trash bin. Luckily for her, she thought, trash will be collected in the morning, in no way she's going to let her mom see that admission letter. Heck! Why was she given this letter? She didn't even apply to this school!!

“Nothing, Mama. It was just the bills.” Her mother looks at her l directly, eye to eye, then she smiled.

"Look someone's waiting for you in the living room." She informed Mayari. Wondering who was it, Mayari hurriedly took off her shoes and head towards the living room. There she saw a familiar good looking guy. She smiled at the surprise. It was Faunus XX!!

“Faunus, what are you doing here?” She asked the lad.

“Long time no see to you too, Mayari.” He grinned.

“How long are you going to stay here?”

“Just until tomorrow's lunch, I’m just saying goodbye to you, Mayari.” The room went quiet, Faunus knowing what happened to her in the past, had stopped talking.

“It’s already that time, ain't it?” she asked Faunus having guessed what was it already about.

“I’ll miss you, Faunus.” She hugged him and he returned it.

“I’ll miss you too…”

After staying quiet for a while Faunus spoke,

“I already ask permission to aunt to bring you to the pastures, we will have our last best picnic at midnight with the other girls.”

“Aylin said misses you.” He added.

“I know.”

Hours past, the pair had gone towards the pasture owned by as the Dempsey (Pan’s) Clan. They arrived at the place with a small group of people already waiting for them.

“Mayari!” A silver-haired lady shouted as she saw the pair coming. She rushed towards the pair and hugged tightly the lady.

“Hey, sister, long to no see.”

“Come on, Neila and the others are waiting for you.” Aylin rushed back to the group who were waiting for them.

“I told you, they missed you,” Faunus commented. Mayari looked at the group.

“So….” Mayari trailed off.

“So, what?”

“How many of them did you fucked?” That question shook him to the core.

“What the Fuck!?!"

"Though, I don't judge you but be sure be careful. If you knocked up any one of them be sure to be accountable. Or if it was confirmed that anyone of them was Artemis, once you wake up you will see yourself at the river of Styx.

“Oh shut up.” He rolled his eyes.

The pair had reached the group waiting for them. They had laid down the blanket and the food on the grass they sat down. They passed out lunch boxes to each of them.

“Time flies,” Neila muttered, “It just seems like it was yesterday when we first met during the test.” She continued.

“Neila!” Her sister, Dianna, Berated her.

“Sorry..”

“No harm is done.”

“It was no fated to be.”

“Mayari, don’t say that! Maybe something happened during the test like the fleece was defective or something.” Aylin, as usual, tries to push the idea to Mayari the idea that something went wrong with the fleece or the basin.

“Well, if it was not meant to be, just let it go, Aylin. Stop your White Lotus Bullshit.” Hecate harshly told her. And the two started a verbal fight.

“What is a White Lotus?” Faunus whispered to the lady beside her, Mayari shrugged my shoulders, since she doesn't know it either.

The fight is destroying the serenity of the place, she nudged Faunus with her elbow.

“Stop them you’re the guy,” Mayari ordered.

“Dude, That’s sexist!” He commented and Mayari rolled her eyes.

“Even I’m the guy, you are the only one they comply to.” The only guy member in the group added. Aylin put her rice box down and look at the girls.

“Alright, Aylin, Hecate, Stop it, Both of you.”

“But sis, she started it.”

“Just stop it.” Out of nowhere, Mayari’s Cellphone is ringing. Diverting her attention away from the group. Looking at the screen, it was an unknown caller.

“I’ll just pick this call,” she said as she walked away from the group, into the woods.

“Wait for-”

“Was it predicted that there will be a Harvest moon today?” Neila suddenly interjected, noticing the moon. The group looks up the sky and see the orange to the almost yellow color glow of the full moon.

“Now that you mentioned it, No there was none,” Dianna said to the group.

“This is bad,” Hecate added in, she feels restless. After all, In their belief an unpredicted color change of the moon means misfortune. Since when was the last time the Lunar Monitors got it wrong? Centuries ago?

Suddenly, A cry went out of Hecates. She feels pain. She felt that something was taken away from her. What was it she doesn’t know. She can hear her friends calling out her name in worry until she blacked out.

“This is bad. Let’s leave our things for now, and let’s go home. Faunus, can you carry Hecate?” Dianna said to them.

“Wait, we can’t leave yet. Mayari is missing.” Neila informed them.

“Where is she!?!” Aylin asked.

“She picked up a call,” Faunus told them.

“I’ll go get her. Where did she go?” Artemis asked him.

“At the direction of the lake.”

“Ok, we’ll catch up to you guys.” And she runs towards the direction of the lake.

“Sis! I’ll go with you!!!” Neila yelled and she follows her sister.

Faunus carried Hecate and he and Aylin, walks towards the direction out of the pasture.

---

Mayari had picked up the unknown caller on the cellphone.

“Hello, Who is this?” She asked, but all she hears were static and choppy voices. She walks further into the woods towards to locate a signal and arrives at a lake. Except for the sound produced by the cellphone, the place was eerily quiet. The lake was calm and in it was the reflection of the moon which emits orange to almost yellow glow. She somehow thinks that it tries to call her, the moon was trying calling out for her. She dropped her cellphone, just before she entered the lake. She creates ripples as she wades through the water, destroying the perfect reflection of the night sky. The place was then getting brighter and brighter. Golden orbs of lights appears out of nowhere and starts to surround her. Suddenly she broke out from her trance and before she was able to shout. She disappeared with the golden light. The lake then returns to its original state of calmness, as if nothing had happened on it in the first place. The only thing that was out of the ordinary, is the dropped cellphone on the ground just before the edge of the lake.
