when star shine and jupiter alligned
“circle endings are nice” you said, “if we ever end, promise me that our chapter will end with a circle ending. they’re always so beautiful, they almost make endings bearable. when things end the way they started, people still feel empty, but in a way they’re also content, it feels as if things have wrapped up nicely.” you stared down at our hands, fingers interlaced and still.
“why are you talking as if things are destined to end?” i asked. i craned my head up towards the sky, and focused on the sparse clouds.
“everything must eventually end. it’s the inevitable. and if we can have a say in at least how the ending goes, why not make it one we’ll never forget and never regret?” she lifted up our hands and kissed the top of mine.
“but isn’t it human nature to always regret…?”
“i suppose it is, but there’s not much one can really do. all we can do is just live in the now and enjoy as much of every little bit of it as we can.” she threw herself down on the grass and pulled me with her. we both laid there, staring at the clouds till it got dark that day.
