Chapter 1
Reina Dun sat down on the ledge of an old building abandoned a long time ago, much like herself. She gazed at the setting sun going down over the horizon of the diverse city below. She pushed a strand of her long brown hair behind her ear and let out a little sigh.
She was on her break currently and she chose watching the sunset over the crowded streets. Merchants closed up for the day as buyers tryed to make last minute purchases and trades. The city was pretty much quiet during the night with the exception of the Cantina.
A small droid used two retractable arms to push itself up the crumbled stone stairs and up to the roof. It chirped to Reina and she swung her legs around to the other side. “Already?” She asked and it chirped back rolling back and forth on it’s wheel like base.
The small robot had a rectangle shaped head with a circular eye that glinted in the little light that was left. He was white but dirt and dust clouded his parts. Reina had built him herself out of parts she found at her abandoned home. A few wires could be seen around the back of his head and one around his short pole-like neck.
Reina and her friend rushed down the street past a few aliens and people walking along. They finally got to the landing yard where Reina worked. Her job, along with her coworkers was to check ships once they came in from wherever. Even though the small planet rarely had visitors with any bad intentions, they didn’t have many defenses and weaponry.
Her droid chirped as they made their way past a few ships. “I know A3 we are in for a long night. Not like anything is really going to happen.” Reina said to her companion. Soon they reached the watch tower which was emitting a strong light from the top so ships could see it from space. The two climbed up the stairs to the top and once they got there a green nikto turned to face them.
“Reina Dun, of all my luck I get the young one.” He said in a gruff voice. Reina was only 19 but that still but her at least 2 or 3 years behind most of her coworkers. The nikto, who’s name was Garson, was in his older years.
“Nice to see you too.” Reina said putting her head set on and taking her seat facing the yard. She sat on watch wondering if anything would actually happen.

“Alright everyone got their job down? Coming out of light speed soon.” A girl said from the cockpit of the ship she was flying. She was fiddleing with a few switches on the control board and an old battle droid did the same beside her.
“Copy that, we are ready when you are.” Another voice came in on the comlink she was using.
“Ok, dropping out of lightspeed.” The girl said soon after and gave a nod to the droid next to her. The ship came out of the blue vortex of hyper space and infront of them now was a small tan colored planet. “Alright be ready to run the ID.” She said and the droid went back to his work.
They were not there just to hang about under the radar. What the small quite planet, that really had no name, lacked in population it had an abundance of rich fuel. Not many knew about the planet so the Empire never discovered it, or at least not yet. Infact, you would most likely have to be born there or hear from a friend who was to find it.
“Approaching ship what is your business?” A voice came in on the control board and the droid worked his magic.
“Yes we are transmitting ID now.” The girl in the cockpit said and a few seconds later the voice from the control board came in again.
“Alright you are clear to land, and that will be landing patch 5.” The voice said and the girl in the cockpit gave a quick smile to herself.
Once they were landed the girl from the cockpit pushed herself out of the seat. “Glitch, stay and keep look out. Call us on the com if anything happens.” The girl told the droid, now sweeping the bangs of her short hair to the side. Her hair was brown, short and turned blonde at the ends. Her eyes were a dark green and her skin was a light tan. She wore a set of dark green overalls and underneath was a long sleeved mustard colored shirt with the sleeves rolled up just a bit.
She made her way to where the rest of the crew was standing and smiled at her friends. “Alright, Chip, get your bombs ready. Just the front of the yard not near the ship or the fuel.” She ordered and a man, young in age, gave a chuckle back.
“Aw please Fay, like I would be dropping bombs near the ship!” He said leaning forward with a smile. “I will keep them distracted, and hey, maybe get some target practice in too.” He said with another laugh.
“Alright, alright, this should be an easy job. Don’t turn it into a war, Chip.” Another member of the crew said. She was a mirialan and quite a pretty one too. Her skin was a light purple and her face was decorated with tattoos. Her eyes were a dark brown and there was a shy look to them. Her black hair was brought up on top of her head in a messy bun with loose ends on every side.
Fay brought the com closer to her ear so she could hear. “Alright, Glitch gave the signal, we are landing now. Get ready.” She said and the team nodded. Chip, Fay, and the mirialan, who’s name was Anna, stood near the boarding ramp. It opened with a puff of steam and when it cleared a girl was seen standing on the ramp.
“Security check, please step aside.” She said and pushed a piece of her hair behind her ear.
“Oh! Of corse!” Fay said surprised and the group of three moved to the side.
“There was no mention of a security check, Fay...” Chip mumbled into her ear once the girl was out of hearing range. Chip put his hand on is blaster and pulled it out slightly. He walked towards the girl quietly.
“What the heck is he doing...” Fay mumbled as her and Anna watched him aproch his target. He raised the blaster and fired just as the girl turned around with a look of shock on her face. But the blast that had come out of his gun was not red, it was a stun blast. She flopped to the floor unconscious.
“Why was my gun on stun mode!?” He exclaimed turning it over and fixing it.
“I don’t know, and what the heck were you doing?! She probably wouldn’t find anything and she would have let us go! You should have gone and started bombing!” Fay yelled at him furiously. Fay was usually pretty nice, though she wasn’t afraid of bossing anyone around, this was no different.
“Look! Don’t loose your head! The boss could use some extra help, if you know what I mean.” Chip commented and Fay, still a little mad, thought about it.
“Or we could just–” Anna started to say quietly but was cut off by Fay.
“Alright put her in one of the storage closets and then continue on as planned. Now, thanks to Chip, we have a matter of time before they realize that the girl is gone.” Fay told them and Anna sighed a bit as she went over to the girl, who was still laying on the floor.
Once they heaved her into the closet they tied her hands behind her back and locked the door.
“Alright, let’s hurry and get that fuel.” Fay said and they ran off down the ramp, Anna and Fay going in one direction and Chip going with a sack of bombs in the other.
But as they left a small droid rolled up the ship’s ramp and hid near the closet where they had stowed the unconscious girl.
