Summary

Two beautiful and protective dogs, Three wonderful and yet crazy kitties and one newborn baby who is adored by everyone by the name of Hunter. This is my story about the bond between human and animal. This story is not your typical story about service animals and there bond with human beings. Those are all nice stories, but this is a heartwarming story that has a point to make about how well animals can treat a baby so warmly as soon as the newborn baby is brought home from the hospital. In these situations the parents may be pleasantly surprised on which pet shows the most affection. That's where the word "underdog" comes in and the fact that it can be used in pretty much any context. I hope you enjoy this story!!

Chapter One - The Beautiful Meeting

We have three cats at our home. Growing up I was never really a cat person and either was my family. But my wife Ashlee rescued three kitties. Three years ago she rescued our first two kitties together Luna and Callie. Luna is our fat and happy kittie and Callie is the definition of a scaredy cat. Then about a year and a half later Ashlee brought home our cat Purrl. Purrl being the youngest Ashlee and I both thought that Purrl wasn't going to do so great when we were to bring our son Hunter home for the first meeting. My relationship with our cats was pretty basic, because I've always been a dog lover.

When we brought Hunter home from the hospital both Ashlee and I were so surprised to see Purrl cozy up to Hunter as soon as we brought him out of his car seat and laid Hunter our bed. Ill never forget how loud Purrl was purring laying next to hunter. They were just chilling together and I could tell they were both loving every second of it. So, we let them both lay there a while. Then they both woke up at nearly the same time. They both looked at each other in their eyes. It was one of those moments where I really wished that Hunter and Purrl were able to speak to each other. It was a very memorable moment that ill cherish for a very long time.

Our other two cats Callie and Luna keep there distance from Hunter for the most part. That doesn't mean there bad cats, I was just very surprised at the way Callie and Luna responded. Every day though, I wish I was able to talk to Luna and Callie to try to figure out what is preventing them from snuggling up to Hunter to comfort him.
