Summary

Dalliance; a brief love affair. It wasn't like that, though. It wasn't a love affair. It wasn't brief. Whatever it was, was one sided. It was primal, want, and she always got what she wanted. Until he got a taste... and he wanted more. ***

Prologue

Don't you just love Highschool? You get to find yourself and make friends and work out problems- even though most of your problems start there.

This young woman found herself walking into highschool on a Saturday because she had a problem. Funnily enough, her problem didn't start here, it went here.

She swiped at her ponytail as she stormed through the halls and took a turn into the bathroom, casually checking her lipgloss and ignoring the urinals she saw in her peripheral vision. Why would it matter that she went into the boys bathrooms? She didn't even go to this school. She didn't go to school at all.

She wasn't a drop out and she wasn't a paedophile, she couldn't have been five years older than most of the kids here.

Her lips perked up at corners as she thought about why she was here. There was talk about kids in this school running drug rings and stealing cars. She spent weeks trying to figure out who the leader was and a tip off lead her here today.

The rest of the investigators didn't bother with these minor cases but it was easy for her. Her small size and big, expressive brown eyes made it easy for her to fit in with the kids.

Karen Mars was real life Jumpstreet.

She hated it.

She wanted to be apart of somthing bigger.

Okay, sure, getting kids to be better people was great and all but Karen wanted to take on those fun cases about strippers who drugged guys on Wall Street and stole their money but she didn't fit the look. She needed a damn ID to walk past a bar.

Again, she didn't get it. She shouldn't have to deal with soft cases because she was far from soft.

She has a horrible temper, she does what she wants, when she wants with who she wants.

She didn't farce herself out to be the good girl just because she looked like she could be the good girl. She was bad and she always got what she wanted.

Karen continued to pretend to check her makeup as someone left their little cubicle.

The boy looked up in shock, of course teenage girls don't just walk into the boys bathrooms. He walked over to the taps and flashed her a quick fuck boy smirk.

She saw it enough times before to know what it looked like and she decided that that's how she'd get him.

It started with her pulling the boy into the kiss, her hands on either side of his face so she could keep his attention. Honestly, you could tell that she didn't need to put much effort into it. Karen may have started it but he was definitely enjoying it way too much.

He had his hands on her hips, slowly sliding one down to her butt and he was practically biting her lip off. She slid her hands down his neck and tugged at the scarf he was wearing, hoping he'd release but he squeezed her butt instead.

She jumped, squealing and breaking the kiss so that she could pick his hand off of her. Yet again, instead of stopping like a gentleman, he began kissing at her neck and shoulder but at least his hands were back up to her waist.

"Talk to me, baby." He murmured, once again squeezing her butt.

She glared at him, being sure to move away before he attached himself to her again, and then turned him around, pushing him face first into a wall. "You have the right to remain silent." She hissed as the handcuffs clicked shut around his wrists.

...

"Mars! This is unacceptable!"

Karen winched as she sat at the opposite end of the desk, unaffected by the death glares being thrown at her by the large man at the other end.

"I read him his rights." She shrugged, propping her feet on the table and folding her arms infront of her.

"You cannot keep acting this way, it's irresponsible and-"

"A waste of my potential?" She scoffed. "I'm not a kid and I got the job done. Maybe it'll be different if you gave me different cases? Maybe you should add a little variety?!"

She didn't even bat an eye while talking to him this way, even though she was around a third of his size. Julias Dale was her mother's best friend but over the years, and especially after her mother had passed away, he turned into family. He helped her in school and encouraged her when she decided to enroll into the police force to serve like her mother did.

He was even more supportive when she was invited to be a spy... Mostly because he was head of the agency.

"You're right." He sighed. Karen couldn't believe it and sprung from her seat.

"You're taking me off Jumpstreet cases and putting me on Wall Street?"

Julias squinted at her. "They arent-", he paused and rubbed at the creases on his forehead, he was one of the fee who knew that it was pointless arguing with Karen Mars.

"When do I start?"

"In a week." He informed her.

"Great! I'll get my things together and-"

"-but you get to meet your partner sooner."

Karen pouted. "Partner? I don't need a partner."

"You do where you're going." Julias smiled and started walking out of his office.

Karen followed, her fists clenched at her sides and she seethed after him.

She didn't get to say a word before Julias stopped infront of her and she slammed into him, knocking her to the side. "He's only going to be looking out for your best interest, Mars."

"Is this a joke? I can take care of myself."

"I just thought you two would work well together." Karen rolled her eyes.

"Can I atleast see know his name or what he looks like?"

She was handed a photograph.

The man in the photo was old and looked strict and extremely proper.

"We'd never be able to work together." She groaned.

"We'll see."
