The sound of rain .. A new beginning. Nell turned 59 today .
For any reason she can't seem to find anything todo on this day.
Her husband is do home at 3:30.
And dinner is almost cooked.
Nell heard the phone ring .
Asuming her husband were on the other end of the reciever .
She answer's.
But it wasn't her husband .
Hello Stewart is that you

Uh no this is Dr. Kane May I speak with
Nell ?
Nell says this is her .
The Doc explain to her the test's
Came back positive for memory loss .
Her evaluation took alot longer to
Detect because of a recent brain scan
It's treatable Dr. Kane explains.
Nell replied .
What does the treatment's consists of?
Is it expensive?
Will it takes time of my husband's
work schedule?
Dr. Kane replies No. I'm sure you come in or make a scheduled
apointment over the phone right
here right now.
Nell replied okay how about this
Thursday .
My husband and I do not have
anything planned .
Dr. Kane replied.
So then Thursday at 2:00 pm. It is?
Nell replies then it is settled .
Nell heard a car pull into the driveway.
Her husband Stewart opens the
driver side door and step's out .
Nell watching Stewart through
the window .
Nell reluctant to say anything to
Stewart.
Because she know's how
insensitive he is .. Stewart probably wont know how to react.
Once Stewart opens the door ..
Stewart walks in and carried all
Of his important work to the table .
Stewart asks .
Hi Good evening Nell how was
your day?
Nell replies Well it's been a long
day especially because it has been
raining all day off and on .
Mother nature can't decide when
it will stop.
I made dinner for Stewart.
Stewart replies excellant.
Nell decides to set the table with dishes and silverware

mentioned to her on the phone.
They both sat to down to pray .

I got a call from Dr. Kane this
afternoon .

Oh yeah what did he say was
it about the evaluation you
took recently ?
Nell replies. Yes he wants to meet
with us on Thursday at 2:00 pm.
Regarding the test's .
Maybe if there is any thing?
We would like to share or add .
Because I might have the
beginning of stage one Alzheimers.
And since its detected early I can
go on ahead and processe
treatment's?
And what kind of insurance
plan are on your list? As apart of back up?
Nell replies well there is a premium .On my number one plan .
I can register for Medicare since
Alzheimers is a disease.
Page 2 .
Getting in to see the
Doctor's Nell and Stewart are
in the waiting room filling out
paperwork on the clipboard and
signing into the front desk .
The front desk secretary told
them it would be a while so hang
tight .
Nell finishing up with her paper work .
Stewart hands it in ..
Nell picks up a magazine and
desides that will distract her from
her nerviceness .
Comforting Nell. Stewart says
that I'm sure if you have to take
treatments . I can take off my
busy work schedules .
Not all the time but sometimes .

I might have to take some classes
on how to deal with you .
Stewart suggested.
Nell replies .I'm so bothered
by this whole mess .
The nurse opens the door and
calls for Nell.
Nurse calls out Nell.
The nurse takes Nell to get her
temperatures and her weight
filed.
Takes Nell's chart and put's it in
the slot on the door.
Asked Nell .Would you please
sit on the table with the paper sheet ?

Nell replies sure.
I just can't wait to get this over with.
Stewart is pacing back and forth.
An half of an hour went by.
The nurse takes a urine sample
and checks her heart and lungs .
Then the nurse left .
Okay.. Dr. will be with you
shortly.
Nell and Stewart replies okay .
Moments later .
Dr. Kane step's in ..
Okay looks like your evaluations
has detected that you have
a lapse. That your
mental evaluation can't go on
without a psychologist.
Nell say's. What is the criteria?
Dr.Kane says that all you have
to do is submit a report of your
scheduled normal day jott down.
Save a journal . For just two
weeks. Then once the
psychologist. He give's you a
questionnaire to fill out .
And will take a while .
So bring some lunch .
Stewart ask's. Well I want to join
this evaluation and what time
is it going to take place?
So that I may take off my schedule.
Nell looking concerned.
She dosen't like it one bit.
Nell asks Can you die from
Alzheimers ?
Dr. Kane replied well yes if it
goes untreated .
The disease spreads .
Possibly with the right insurance.
You can make a come back .
May I suggest you eat fish and
omegas try blueberries?
No more red meat or possessed
meat since that is probably what
Started it in the first place .

Nell is wondering about how to reverse this problem .
Stewart mentions . Will she have to play brain games like puzzles?

Dr. Kane replied well yes that would.

how to manage her life?
Dr. Kane replied yes there is .

Nells life Stewart will have to take care
of Nell when she progresses.
But praying it doesn't have to
end like that.
Nell watching a movie about cars.
She doesnt realize that she has
no idea how she got this way .
Stewart stepping outside of the
kitchen has a notebook on hand .
Well Nell . I have a notebook with
you reminders and collection
of phone numbers just in case
You have trouble remembering.
Nell say's oh I won't have trouble .
I can keep a notebook on hand .
That's all I need .
Stewart replies but what if you
forget how to read .
Replied with a giggle .
Nell says well if that would
ever happen . I might as well
get an audio book to read to me .
That's not hard at all .
Stewart said?
Do you remember what this story is about ?On cars do you remember the story line ?
Nell replies I couldn't focus ..
I was watching but I couldn't focus.
Because I have a lot on my mind .
And am worried about the mental evaluation.
Stewart says well if you can't focus on the story line .
Nell says no I'm just nervous.
Your just trying to make me
sound like further along with the
disease.
Well Stewart I'm not .
I can control this disease with
your trust and support.
Can I count on that from you
Stewart?
Nell I know this is difficult for you
to understand but this is serious
more serious than you realize.
Nell says well keep me in good spirits by building me up my confidence.
And we have to stay positive for
this whole thing and with faith.
We can keep it under control .

Today seems quiet for a Sunday .
The church people down the street let's out
The people come rushing out
to meet the father .
Stewart says maybe we can start
a fund to help you with treatment's .
Really I could ask father to take
up a collection .
Next Sunday I'll type up a
letter to send to the parish .
Father will present it on
the bulliton for people to read .
An ad in on TV shows.
Nell take's note's and show's them Stewart.
Stewart replies .
No No No we will not get a service
dog .. To much money .
Nell says no they have a donation.
I could adopt a service dog .
Stewart say's...Okay we will see .
But we have to do a budget.
Stewart asks where is this unbelievable Mutt ?
Nell replies there not mutt's
they are perfectly trained service
dogs . We can adopt one at the Rescue Service in town .
Not to hard to get to.
All we have to do is take him to the
vet and keep it updated on his
shot's .

Driving in a grave yard Nells sister has passed.
There have been a baby brother .
