Summary

"Oh, heeyyy..." I said with a nervous chuckle. "So you think you can escape me Ms. Barnes?" he leans close to me, his hot and minty breath hitting my cheek. "This time I'm going to make sure you don't run away from me." he says as his lips was close to mine. "Back off!" The elder brother turns his head and glares at his brother. Prologue

Love is something that we all have, it is a feeling that we can’t get rid of when someone you deeply like is in your head. Love is like a proposal, your soulmate getting down on one knee and opens that small box revealing a shiny and expensive ring. Sure love can be beautiful and it can be powerful...but sometimes love doesn’t turn out to be a happy ending...

Love can turn out small or weak. Your soulmate or even you might want to end the relationship. Or one of you can be cheating on each other, and we can be guilty or we might not feel guilty. There could be many reasons why love didn’t turn out the way you wanted it to. When it’s over we start to think negative, and we might become abusive. That’s why romance doesn’t work out for me, it might not even will...that’s why it’s better for me to stay out of it instead of getting myself involved...

“Um...” a young boy in my age started. This boy’s name is Jack and we have the same class together. He has blonde hair, blue eyes, and he likes to wear Star Wars shirts. He is a shy and timid boy who likes sports but is too shy to even ask to play with other kids.

I blinked waiting for him to finish his sentence. It’s quite obvious what he was going to ask me for, but I don’t want to be rude by interrupting him. It’s best to wait before saying anything.

“I like you!” Jack shouted out and his cheeks were already turning red. He gulped nervously before he extends out his arm with a pack of daisies in his hand that he had picked out from today’s recess. “Will you be my girlfriend?”

I looked at the daisies then I looked back at him. I then narrowed my eyes from him before answering, “Sorry but I don’t feel this same way about you.”

And there it was...that sad look in his eyes. I have no regrets about turning this boy down, but I know it’s for the best. Even if I did accept, I won’t be able to make him happy. He’ll get tired of me and break up with me. So it’s better to say no, even though I just broke his heart.

HONK!

HONK!

My head turns to look at the familiar silver SUV, I turn back to look at Jack who had his head down and his arm that carried the daisies by his side. I sighed and left running to enter in the back seat of the SUV. And soon we left school grounds.

“How was school?” my uncle asks while looking at me through rear-view mirror.

“The same as usual.” I answered.

I hope things better, I hope some sort of miracle happens. But that doesn’t mean involving romance into my life...

Obsidian: He's hilarious. Like, actually. I loved it. You're writing style is great, although you could do with a few less murmurs and mutters. I know it sounds critical, but I have the same problem and I hate it. Overall, it was one of the best stories I've read on here so far. I liked it better than those M...
