Chapter 1
I was on my way to the dining hall for lunch. I sat down and waited patiently for my parents to arrive. I was playing with my hair and tapping my feet because I was nervous. I wanted to ask them if I could go to the village and see our townspeople.
When they finally sat down I asked, "May I go visit the townspeople, father?"
He gave me a stern look and replied, "You know my answer Lily, you must not leave the castle".
"There are creatures out there and they would do anything to get their hands on a royal-like you," my mother said.
"I know mother, you tell me every time I ask," I said.
"And every time we are going to say no", my father replied curtly.
I gave them a sad look but it didn't do me any good. I excused myself from the table when I was full and ran to my room. 'Why couldn't I go visit my people?' She walked into her room and closed the door behind her. The room was pink themed with fluffy pillows and blankets everywhere. She got undressed and put on a robe and walked to her bathroom. It was also pink but without the fluff. She wished to be alone so she let her maids take a leave for the afternoon. She started her warm bath, waiting until it was full then added the bubbles.
She was relaxing in the warm water when she had an idea. 'I'm going to sneak out tonight and see the village at night!' She thought it through and packed a bag just in case something came up or she stayed longer than she expected.
'Anything can go wrong', a small voice in the back of her head whispered. She didn't pay much attention to it because she was too excited to see the village.
She had heard that they would be kind and generous people. She wanted to see the normal girls her age. She wanted to maybe, just maybe, make a friend. She and her friend would have so much fun and would spend their night having adventures and breaking rules. Those were two things she never got to do and was very giddy to completing them.
She got out of her bath to dry off. She walked to her dresser and got a nightgown on. Once she was ready for bed she started packing her bag. She took out a pile of clothes that she would change into later that night. She picked a pair of jeans and a lacy white shirt that just barely rested off her shoulders. She packed her bag with extra food and extra clothes just in case she got dirty or hungry.
She got into her queen size bed and thought about the friends she would make. She knew she was a little old at 16 and having a pink room with fluffy things, but it wasn't her choice. Just like leaving the castle. But she knew that girls in the village wouldn't care how old she was. She just wanted to have fun with other people for once. If she stayed a second longer in this castle, she might die of boredom.
She let her thoughts take over as she drifted to sleep. She had made sure to set an alarm on her clock on her nightstand beside her head. She started to dream of all the exhilarating adventures she would be having in the future. How much fun it would be with the village people.
