Another Hate, Love Relationship

I was sitting on the wall outside with my brother, when they arrival.

It was a tall man with dark brown hair and a woman, a few inches shorter than him, with yellow-brown-blonde like hair, that moved into the house across the street.

It seemed to me at first that they didn't have any children, but I was wrong.

They arrived a few days after them, two girls. I assume that the wrinkly people who dropped them off, were their grandparents. They must have stayed there until their parents were settled in.

The eldest one looked about ten, two years younger than me, she had long brown hair like her father. And the youngest looked about seven, with yellow-brown-blonde hair like her mother.

I nudged my brother in the side when we went to sit on the wall again the next week,"Bryan, what do you think of our new arrivals?"

"Arrivals?" He asked stupidly.

"The people who, came here a week ago dummy." I said scowling at him. He can act so stupid sometimes.

"Oh, them, mom calls them our neighbours. I like the girl with the brown hair. She's pretty. How old do you think she is?" He asked.

"About your age, I think." I said to him. I wasn't sure to be honest.

"I like he-" He began, but a girly shriek cut him off.

"Daddy look, a tree house!" The brown headed girl yelled excitedly to her father, pointing at the tree ouside their yard.

"Can I climb it?" She asked her dad, who was working on his car. Her mom and sister left earlier and haven't returned yet. "Be careful sweety!" He yelled without looking up.

She walked to the gate, opened it and walked to the tree after closing it again. She started climbing it and slipped, "Need your daddy to help you out, sweety?" I chuckled at her. I don't know why I was being mean to her.

She looked over to me and raised her eyebrow,"I can handle myself dumbwitt." She rolled her eyes and started climbing again, this time not slipping. "Then why did you slip?" I asked smugly.

"The bark is wet idiot, it was raining outside, duh, it's only natural to slip." She said while climbing up further. That shut me up. She was clever, there was no denying it. Of course it rained last night, now I felt like the dumb one.

"Why are you mean to her?" Bryan asked. I almost forgot he was there.

"She's so pretty." He said mesmerised. "Oh, shut up." I groaned. Her beauty was clear, but I was stubborn. And for no apparent reason I didn't like her at all, or maybe I did and I was too dumb to know that I did.
