The perfect shot

Sevina stared at the dangerous rocks that formed a rocky edge on a cliff just off the shore. With her heart was racing and her adrenaline running wild, she began walking up towards the edge. She wanted the best view in order to catch the sunset just right. This was going to be the perfect cover photo on her portfolio. It also happened to be the scariest climb, but she was determined like always. She got her stubbornness from her father. It had been three years since she lost her father to cancer. It came quickly and left it's dull knife in her ribcage, where the scar never seemed to heal.

The sky was a beautiful blend of purple with hints of pink and dark blue mixing as one. It reminded her of cotton candy. "Almost there." She grunted to herself, as she took a few more steps up. She didn't dare go near the very edge. She knew without seeing how treacherous the waves beneath her were. She could hear the sound of the water slapping the rocky coastline without mercy. The weather report mentioned a storm coming, but she was too excited to read the whole paragraph.

She reached the spot she wanted and grabbed her lucky camera from her weathered bag. Dingy little thing made her wonder how it was still able to capture photos with the amount of years and bangs it got from her four years at college. She had recently graduated from Veterinary school, and celebrated with a night of binge watching The Office and stuffing her face with mint chocolate chip ice cream. A few weeks later, she was informed of some inheritance left by her late grandmother whom she'd barely known.

She was left with her grandmother's coastal estate, a letter, a candle business, and a fluffy cat named Benji. She just got to town as she found the perfect spot to pull her black mustang over and wait for the nearing sunset.

Lucas Delgrove was exhausted and in the back of his limo, sipping on an empty glass of whiskey. "How about some heat, Roger? Looks like a storm is coming." Lucas spoke with a tired tone to his driver and long time confidant. "Right away Sir," said Roger as he turned the dial up. Lucas was deep in thought as he watched the coastline padding by in blurs. Suddenly, something caught his eye. A bird? A hawk? No. An eagle! He watched the long wings soar high in the air as it was closing in on something else near the edge of a cliff. Someone was out there. Were they trying to jump? With a quick move, the bird swooped down and startled the person and before he knew it, he witnessed them fall off the cliff. "Roger! Stop the car!" "Someone fell off that cliff!" Lucas opened the door before the car came to a complete stop. "Sir?" The bald fortys-something driver turned around. "Roger grab a first-aid kit from the trunk and meet me at that hill!" Roger immediately races towards the trunk and grabs what he needs as Lucas races towards the safest spot to walk down towards the waves. "Hold on!" Lucas looks around and spots something moving about under the large waves. "I see you!" He grabs his tie and starts taking it off and wrapping it around his left hand. Thinking of using it to order the person to hold on, he notices the person is a woman and she has lost conscious. Quickly he battles his way though a few waves and finally picks her up and starts trudging back toward the shore. Roger is at his side at once with the first-aid kit and a blanket. "Did she jump?" Roger asks. "No, I think the bird startled her and she fell." "Let's get her in the car and back to the manor".
