Cupid

So, it all started when he was born (duh). His mom was a total sucker for romance, and named her little boy Cupid. Cupid Amare Maxwell. From a young age, kids would make fun of his name. That's why he went by Maxwell Valenti ever since middle school, where he moved to a new city. Valenti was his mom's maiden name, so they thought it was a good choice.

In middle school, it wasnt that hard to make friends. He found his group pretty easily. Of course, they all liked someone. They asked Max, the only one who didn't like someone yet. He gave them all advice. They were all with they're crushes by the end of seventh grade, and only a few months after they asked.

Start of eighth grade, people found out about Maxwell's "magic". Anyone in the school with a crush would ask him for advice. Sometimes he would get backlash, but that was mostly because multiple people liked the same person, or there was a difference in romantic preference. Most other times, everything worked out fine. He wasn't really made fun of like some other people. In fact, he was arguably the most popular kid in school. Life was alright.

Did his life have flaws? Yeah, of course it did. His mother was trying to find a new, loyal husband. She always cried when she talked about how her first husband, Max's father, died of some terrible disease when Max was only a few months old. But he felt his mom was good enough. She was protective and always stood up for him when kids who didn't know what he could do. She didn't know about the odd thing either. But he was alright with it. All around, pretty normal life. Well, until one day.
