Dreaming of you always (dedicated to my daughter)

I dreamt of you last night,

I saw your face,

Your eyes sparkled in the moonlight,

I saw you again this morning,

Taking your sister to school,

My heart hurts, but for them, I try to remain numb, cool,

You would be ten today,

I can only wonder what you would want for your birthday,

What color are your eyes, your hair,

Those are the thoughts flooding my head,

With no answers I can only sit and stare,

I find myself placing you in crowds, even family pictures somehow,

If wonder if you're happy up there,

In heaven with the angels,

The few memories we have pulls my heartstrings, they're now tangled,

I often think of memories passed,

Wondering what I could have done different,

I hate with my whole heart, he took you so fast

Your brothers and sisters miss you,

They write you letters every year,

I can only imagine you playing together,

And all the "secrets" I would "overhear",

They wonder what you'd look like too,

Like them, or me, or just you,

It's crazy how ten years have passed,

I'm scared the memories will fade,

I've always been told nothing lasts,

I can be proud of this one thing,

You left and got your angel wings,

And while i know I'll see you again one day,

I just have one more thing to say,

I pray you're loving, glowing and laughing,

Singing, playing, and well, just happy,

We love you with all our hearts,

And we will always look for you in the stars.
