The Death of the Queen
“Mom!” Calls Natha. “Yes hunny?” Says Meria. Meria was a strong, beautiful, woman who had blue eyes and very dark brown hair. Natha was similar to her, but had brown eyes instead.
“I was wondering if I could go down to the pond today.” “Yes I suppose that would be fine.” Said Meria grabbing Natha’s coat and draping it over her shoulders. “Be back by 6:00 for supper.” “Yes, Mother.” Said Natha closing the door behind her.
For being only 16, Natha was very tall and obeyed whatever her mother said to do.
Natha walked down to the pond where she normally went during the day. The pond had pretty magenta flowers and rocks surrounding the pond. It was out in a grassy field with trees here and there.
Natha sat down at the edge of the pond and starting twirling the water with her finger while looking at her reflection. She smiled looking at her eyes in the water.
She noticed something weird however. Instead of her big, brown, eyes, they changed blue. Natha started and stared at the water, puzzled at why her eyes were blue.
Suddenly, her eyes started to ache. They ached and ached really bad. It got to the point where she couldn’t stand it anymore and ran home to her mother.
