Synopsis

Earth is connected to a mysterious lake hidden within a forest. Both the forest and the lake are held with a warped pocket of time and space, proving access to a hidden alternative universe. Erik, a young boy from England, finds this lake, after following instructions in a mysterious book he found in an old manor house.

However, the world that Erik enters is plagued by dark creatures, which can only be destroyed with a high pulse of energy. Unfortunately, the world has no fossil fuels and consequently is much less advanced, and so cannot spare much energy to combat this plague. Fortunately, the book Erik used to find the world holds many more secrets, including a way to stop the shades.

Erik is swept along on an intrepid journey into the heart of darkness to find this secret. He is accompanied by Herax; a great captain, (along with his crew), Lyrish; a talented scientist, Groke; an exiled prince, Corzye; a “treasure seeker” and her adopted daughter, Zelesa.

bushbaby: Really fantastic book, despite the MFC background it felt like a satisfying, almost cheesy happy book. While her background is a challenge in itself, I would have loved to see some other challenge the couple had to overcome or even the clan to lean into the bear side more. There were quite a few spe...

Bloodlines

lblomme: I always love a story where good overcomes evil. The sad start, the growth, and ultimate strength of the main character was well done. The story never lagged and ultimately delivered a happy ending even for characters who were less than stellar. Well done!

Silver's Second Chance

Ashley: I enjoyed the story. It was a short one so the fast pace fit. I think something should be put in to show a time jump between paragraphs like a "****" just to make it easier to follow when we skip to the next day week or month. Over all a good read.
