The Story of my Life

Footsteps. I hear a hushed cold voice whispering. My mind is going through all the reasons why my grandfather could be up at this hour. Maybe having another stroke? I open my door and see him standing there, his back to me. "Papi?" I ask. He turns around abruptly. "MANDY!!! GET OUT NOW!" He yells. He grabs me by the shoulders and shakes me. "Papi! It's Annie!" I shout. He stops, looking confused. "Annie?" He asks. I nod. "Your Granddaughter, Papi." He nods. "I'm sorry Annie. Just another nightmare...I thought you were-" I interrupt him. "Mandy?" I ask. Mandy is my older sister. She died in a house fire several years ago. I was 9. She was 16. Her and her boyfriends house set on fire. My mother passed a few years after. My father, we don't talk about him. I don't exactly know what happened but he's gone now. And my grandfather, when he dies, I could probably live with my older brother Justin. He is 23 now. He is already married and his wife...Mary I think...is due next month. I'll be an auntie before i'm 15! "I'm okay, I'll just go back to bed. Goodnight." He says and shuts his door. "Goodnight..." I mutter.
