Chapter 1
I have nothing to wear.
Those are the first words to pop into my head when I wake up.
It's 6:00 in the morning and I had to go to school. T-High wasn't as far a walk as it seems but it is pretty chilly. And I have nothing to wear.
Having just moved to Topeka, all of my belongings were still in boxes. I look to my right.
The alarm clock on my nightstand reads 6:15. I have been laying here for 15 minutes and I still haven't came up with what I want to wear today. Me being a little over weight and taller then average girls my age, not a lot of styles would look good on me this time of year. The air was stuffy and the sky was clear of everything but the sun.
I mentally scan through all of my clothes that I have brought with me and almost immediately an outfit presents itself. Standing up from my bed, I stretch feeling and hearing all my joints popping back into place as I stretch my arms above my head. I quickly walk to the box that has a majority of my clothes in it and open it up. Ramaging through it, I pull out my black ripped skinny jeans, a black tank top and a clean pair of socks. I check the alarm clock.
6:30.
I have about an hour before I gotta be at school. Grabbing my cellphone, a towel and my tooth brush, I walk to the bathroom connected to my bedroom with purposeful strides. I had to pee so bad, I almost peed on the way to the toilet. After I finish doing my business, I turn Anson Seabra on and connect my phone to the speaker on my counter. Turning the water on, I began to sing.
Could have been my happily ever after,
Living like we're in a fairy tail,
But you and me were more like a disaster,
I should have known.
Intoxicated by your reputation,
I can see the mischief in your eyes,
I trusted you despite my reservation
Now I'm alone.
Robin Hood continued to play as I stepped into the shower, humming as the water rushes over my head and down my back, instantly making me relax.
After washing my hair with my Coco butter scented shampoo and conditioner followed by my favorite Coco butter scented bodywash, I hop out and quickly wrap myself into a towel, hopping to beat the cold and trap the warmth against my skin.
I look at my alarm.
7:00.
I hurriedly get dressed and my bookbag filled and flung over my shoulder I run back into my bathroom and grab my phone and headphones from off the shelf hanging by my door. I rush down the hall and through the front within ten minutes. I smile triumphantly to myself. I beat my record and avoided my abusive parents. I'm on a roll.
I grin and it instantly turns to a scowl when I began walking down the street towards my school.
Time to get this shit-show on the road.
