Chapter 1
William pov
I walked into my college building trying to brush off my tried state from studying late the previous night finishing up the final preparations for the day's test I had put off studying for. 'At least tomorrow's Saturday, right?' I thought to my self. Saturday meant no classes and no classes meant I could finally relax.
Moving up to the college café I absentmindedly ordered a coffee. I had 20 minutes till class started meaning I had time...and coffee to help me wake up properly.
Hearing my name I moved up to the counter to grab my coffee I looked up for the first time. The barista tucked her hair behind her ear and smiled unnaturally brightly for the time of day before handing me my coffee, a heart is drawn next to my name. I took a sip and instantly my mood brightened. Running my hands through my hair I looked up at the barista, "wow you're an angel, thanks for that" I thanked as the barista blushed at my comment.
I walked away hearing the other worker loudly whisper to the other barista who had served me. "Who is he?" "Don't you know? He's William Thompson." "Who?" "He's one of the top students here, and he's seriously attractive. I put my number on the bottom of his cup, do you think he'll see?" "YOU WHAT!" The second worker whisper yelled.
I smirked at my effect on the girls taking another sip of my coffee before walking out the door to my first class.
I tapped my pen against my notebook while looking at the project screen in front of the class, my lecture's monologue as per usual was slowly putting me back to sleep. Not even the coffee I had could save me from the boredom and sleep deprivation.
A nudge in my side was enough to bring me back to attention though as my friend James sitting next to me slid me a note...after breaking a rib or two.
-When you weren't here in the last lesson our class decided what booth we're doing for the opening entrance festival. We're doing a kissing booth.-
I looked over at James, eyebrows raised in question. Getting no answer as James was 'paying' attention to class, I scribbled my response below James's message.
-Sounds good to me, we have some of the prettiest girls in our class anyway. Maybe we'll win the most profit!-
Sliding the note back across the table James took it from me before silently reading my response. Expecting no more, I looked back at the lecturer once again resigning myself to boredom. But the note sliding back into my view once again distracted me.
-Agreed! For the girls who volunteered were Emma, Olivia, and Ava. And for the boys, we chose Oliver, Benjamin and since nobody else wanted to you were signed up too.-
I read the note once and blinked. Reading the message again rage-filled my eyes. I looked across at James with a death glare. James just smiled back with both his thumbs-up, not expecting the shout that quickly came his way as I forgot I was in the middle of class.
"YOU WHAT!!" I yelled while simultaneously slapping the note down next to James's books.
The whole class turned to look at us and the professor fell silent before he walked over to their desk snatching the note from the table before James could hide it. Scanning the note the professor processed to read it out loud.
"Our class decided what booth we're doing for the opening entrance festival. We're doing the kissing booth."
He paused before looking at me in the eye before continuing to reading my comment.
"We have some of the prettiest girls in our class anyway. Maybe we'll win the profit!"
The final statement was said while eyeing the rest of the class. All the girls blushed at my comment.
"Well, Mr. Thompson if you really care about the profit maybe you should be doing it yourself too...oh wait you are. Good, we don't take slacker in my class."
The professor finished then began walking back to the front of the class. I sat back in my seat with my arms crossed still glaring at James who was gleefully ignoring me.
Great just GREAT, my one Saturday off is ruined.
