Prologue
This is a world full of magic, wonder, and death. In this world, there are 7 continents that hold 7 different civilizations. These civilizations are called The Crystal Ocean, The Treacherous Province, Adaryon, The Legend Empire, The Floating Region, The Vales, and Epitall. The races of this world are the Vleg, Tratun, Elemental Casters, Aquil, Tren, Nefloc, Nal, and Almagam.
The Vleg have incredible strength and super speed. They were once a great warrior race but in recent years they have become a peaceful civilization. However, some Vlegs can be hired as assassins. Although they live in every civilization their original home is The Legend Empire. They have fiery red skin, deep brown hair, and jet black eyes. The Zaber is their steed that long ago carried them into battle and that one day may again. They look like horses with molten rock skin and fiery manes.
The Tratun have the ability to read minds and an ability called sight which allows them to see from another Almagam’s perspective. Because of this, they can see what powers an Almagam has through colours that seem to radiate off of them. Elemental Casters are seafoam green, Vlegs are red, Tratun are white, Aquil are orange, Tren are blue, Nefloc are purple, and the Nal are pink. The more powers an almagam has awakened the stronger the colors will appear, if there are no colors then they have no powers awakened yet. Powers awaken naturally, most commonly when under stress or when a great need for them is presented. They have always been a peaceful race and people often seek them out to gain a different approach or solution to a problem. The Tratun only live in The Vales because that is where their abilities are strongest but they will travel to other lands if need be. They have very pale white skin, light blond hair, and one blue eye with one red eye.
Elemental Casters can control all the elements to an extent. They are the new caretakers of Taris along with the Tren. All Casters have very pale almost translucent cadet blue skin with moss green eyes and deep blue hair like the ocean’s depths. But all Casters have a different birthmark on their forehead that is said to look like molten lava. They take residence in The Treacherous Province because that is the land of Elements.
The Aquil have fire magic which allows them to shapeshift, grow wings made of flames, and to heal sometimes to the extent of resurrecting the dead. All Aquil in their natural forms have smoky grey skin, orange-red hair that looks like burning coals, and blue eyes like flames. Their natural forms are made up of a coloured fog-like substance. But they are currently bound to bodies that look like a combination of multiple different races depending on the Aquil. When Taris was created they were created with it and tasked with watching over it. But since the Everlasting Flame War, their numbers have dwindled; so this task was placed upon the Tren and the Elemental Casters instead. They once lived with the Tren but after the Everlasting Flame War, the few that remained scattered across the Taris.
The Tren have nature magic, which allows them to shapeshift, grow wings made of large leaves and vines, and manipulate nature. This includes not only the nature element but also water. Distant relatives of the Aquil they inhabited the same land before the Aquil scattered across the planet. They have cadet blue skin, lavender vine hair, and midnight green eyes. The Tren tend to live in small one-room homes they build using their abilities. Their diet consists of purely fish and water so their homes are often built by ponds, lakes, and rivers.
The Nefloc are large but intelligent beasts with silky brown blonde fur and hazel eyes. Often they are found helping Almagam cross from continent to continent. They can manipulate air which enables them to breathe underwater and on land. But they feel most at home underwater in a large bubble of air where they can rest and watch the sea life. That is why they live in the underwater continent called The Crystal Ocean, this continent sunk under the water about two hundred years ago by the Nefloc’s own doing.
The Nal have light green skin, rosy pink hair, different coloured eyes, and each have a different birthmark on the backs of their hands. They have no powers or abilities and tend to live quietly in their tree homes in the forests of The Vales. Their life span is short only lasting for about eighty to one hundred years, although they never appear to age past 18.
The Almagam is what the children of two different races or the result of a merging are called. They often take residence together in The Floating Region away from everyone, finding that they feel more accepted and safe among their own kind. It is said that their government doesn’t allow them to leave so the Almagams who live there haven’t a clue what the outside world is like. There is no set description of them because they all manage to look different in some way. However there are subsections particularly for the Elemental Almagams called Spirits, there are Water Spirits, Fire Spirits, Air Spirits, and Nature Spirits. No Almagam can have more than one elemental power.
My name is Valor and I am an Almagam living in The Floating Reign in The City Of Elements with my friend Phoenix and his parents. Often times though I run away for reasons I’d rather left unspoken. Once the City of Elements was the greatest city in all of The Floating Regin; but during The Everlasting Flame war, it was hit the hardest and left mostly in rubble. Normally the Almagam that have some Tren, Aquil, or Elemental Caster abilities would help repair the city but they haven’t.
They said the city will rebuild itself in due time and I’ve seen it happening slowly but nowhere near fast enough. In all honesty, this is probably the worst place in the entire world to live. Houses collapse in on themselves on a weekly basis, the streets are riddled with large potholes, not even the moon will shine on our city because there is a cloud of dust from the war still hovering above it. The city will never grow and rebuild unless that cloud is removed. This is how I have lived my entire life but will it always be like this?
