Hope's P.O.V

"YOU DID WHAT", my best friend Carmen voiced angrily at me on the top of her lungs.

"Did you go deaf or something I said I sent a not so friendly message to your "gang,'' I repeated using quotation marks on the word gang.

You see, Carmen isn’t really your typical gang member, more like a puppy and rainbows kinda girl. I honestly believe she’s just doing all this for attention.

Pathetic, right?

My eyes continued to go back and forth watching Carmen pace across the room, nearly pulling out all of her dirty blonde hair murmuring to herself while nearly creating a fire in our brand new carpet.

I decided to break the tension and sudden intensity in the room.

“Uh...not to be rude or whatever but what’s the deal? it’s not like you would be dumb enough to join a legit gang, your friends would probably take it as a joke!” I tell her in reassurance.

And that moment there is where things started to escalate. Carmen stopped dead in her tracks just standing there as if she’s being taken over by the poltergeist.

“Uh, Carmen,” I say carefully observing her movements. Watching her slowly shake as if she was about to have an anxiety attack. She took slow and steady breaths holding back an obviously huge amount of anger.

"Hope, Are you really that much of a neglective dumbass?”, she replied gritting her teeth while clenching her fists. With her piercing green hazel eyes creating a hole through my skull.

I stood quite confused about what she meant.

“I really don’t see what the issue is, but I’m sorry if your fantasy,” my sentence was interrupted by the sound of shattering glass.

At this very moment, you could tell I triggered her because... she snapped.

”Bullshit! DO YOU THINK THIS IS A GAME? DO YOU HONESTLY THINK I WOULD HAVE THE TIME TO FIND RANDOM PEOPLE AND JUST DECIDED TO CALL US A GANG?,” She paused waiting for my response nearly on the verge of tears, but all I could do is keep my head down and kept quiet because that’s exactly what was going through my mind.

I don't understand or expect ANYONE to be gullible enough to believe this shit.

“If THIS, wasn't real, it wasn't serious...then I wouldn't be worried. HELL, I wouldn't even be pulling out my hair,” She continued while laughing psychotically with a glimmer of fear in her eyes while tears were slowly streaming down her face.

I just sat there blankly, watching Carmen muttering to herself as if she was a crazy person who finally escaped out of rehab not knowing what her next move was going to be.

Maybe this is real, Carmen's never been in this much panic…unless This is all a prank.

Ha, really clever...

I got up off the couch and started looking for some type of hidden camera.

"What the hell are you doing," Carmen eyed my irritability.

"Finding your hidden camera so we can put the bullshit to rest-," I was interrupted by a heavy object hitting me on the back of my head.

I turned around to see it was a black duffel, I took a look at Carmen confused.

"Dude, what the hell,"

"LOOK IN THE BAG," she muttered quietly.

"What, why-"

"JUST LOOK IN THE DAMN BAG" she infuriated at me.

Hesitantly, I slowly opened the duffel not knowing what to anticipate, just as the bag opened I was exposed to by a variety of Grade A drugs, 6 kilos of Columbia powder, a bunch of weed and a whole lotta MDMA.

I couldn't determine if this was a drug addict dream or a future promotion for the biggest FBI a bust.

I glanced at Carmen, and she was a blubbering mess. What in the hell did she get herself into?

"All of THI has to be gone in a week," She said referring to the drugs in the bag while sniffing.

Carmen took a seat on the couch while I took the floor.

We stayed in silence for a while until Carmen spoke up.

"How did you even get Zayn's number?." Carmen sniffled while giving me a warning.

" A few weeks ago, I added my fingerprint to your phone, hoping I can find some random contact to get myself put on because the boys you hang with are really yummy,” I trail on while she shoots me a death glare.

“ Welp, saw your saved photo for him on his contact and read your messages and ya know the rest," I told her quietly.

"No I don't know the rest," she commented rudely. We just stopped talking to each other after that. I honestly can't believe this is real.

A part of me is scared shitless while the other part of me just doesn't give a damn. I mean there's no way in hell this could ever be real but even if this was real. They don't know me and they don't know who I am.

The only way they could get me is through Carmen, which could be problematic because she mentioned in the text. But it's best if I withhold this little piece of information for now.

She'll never let them get to me. She'll have them kill her before they could ever get to me, right?

I was briefly pulled away from my thoughts by the ringing of Carmen's phone.

I took a look at her, and she's turned. pale. I mean really pale. I was going to ask who it was, but apparently, Carmen's a mind reader because she immediately said, "Zayn wants to meet with me,"

And just like that, the butterflies in my stomach started a party...

Ku_Rolet: The novel was good, and I really enjoyed reading it. I love the leads and their bond, but I have one question that confused me. How could Tristan have been dreaming about his mate since he was a child if Omara was already mated to someone else before him? If Kyle had accepted Omara, would Tristan ne...
