Chapter 1: Early times
I am Amy Wielder. I live in Buckle, Tennessee. It is my 15th birthday today. In the 1940s, it’s great to celebrate a birthday with dancing and roller skating. My family used to celebrate my birthday by taking us to get ice cream. When my sister, Elle, left us, we stopped celebrating any birthdays. There was a silence in our family. Nothing was ever celebrated after Elle’s leaving. Everything became dull and quiet. That was until, my mother gave me a family heirloom that was precious to the family. It was a rose. Attached to the rose was a small note that read, “ Read the spell to bring me back.” I thought about the note all night, wondering if I should read the spell. Who would it bring back? Why would they want me to bring them back. If I do bring them back, how long will it last? These questions filled my mind as I drifed off to sleep. I figured that the next morning, I would ask Matthew if he could help.
