Chapter 1: Notes....

I woke up to the sound of rain hitting against my window, that had always been my favorite noise to fall asleep, and wake up to. I turned to my alarm and checked the time."2:46... What is with me and waking up at this time?" I shrugged it off and walked downstairs being greeted by my German Shepard and couldn't help but smile at her cuteness. I then walked into myMkitchen and flipped on the lights and felt a startle as I noticed the slider standing right open. Remembering I closed and locked the door earlier, I had tiptoed to the door slowly and pulled it shut locking it, and taking a picture of the now locked door in case I found it open again and proceeded to go back into the kitchen where I grabbed an apple and then sat down on my couch munching on my apple while watching tv with Tikis head rested on my lap. I checked my phone again after a while to see the time "3:28" flashing on my phone then from behind I heard the sound of foot steps and looked down at Tiki who had her ears drawn back, creeping around the hall and I had gone around the counter, grabbing a knife as self defense. Following Tiki thorough out the hole house and hadn't seen anyone then I took my steps back down the stairs as the hairs on my arm stood up from feeling someone else's presence. "....Who's there? I have a knife!" I ran the rest of the way down the stairs and felt someone leap onto my back. "Hey Lin!" I was so thankful as I recognized Cheryl's voice."God you scared the crap outta me Cher..." I said as I was walking back to the kitchen with Cheryl on my back. "I know. You should've seen the look on your face." She said aloud with a chuckle and I couldn't help but laugh with her. I put the knife back on the counter and went over to the couch where Tiki was already happily laying there wagging her tail as I smiled down at her, dropping Cheryl onto the couch. "So what's up?" I asked. "I wanted to ask you if you got the same note that Clyde and I got." I stared at her fora moment with disbelief and annoyance, "You came here..... And scared the crap out of me.... Just to ask if I got a damn note?!” I yelled out taking a step towards her. "No! You gotta listen! The note was super creepy and I thought you might've gotten one too. So trust me this is important." she said nonchalantly which made me wonder if she was serious or not. "Alright...Well I haven't gotten any no-" I was cut short when we had heard someone knock on the door which startled both Cheryl, me, and Tiki who was already wondering towards the door with her ears drawn back. Cheryl and I followed noiselessly till I had finally reached the door and unlocked it, slowly poking my head out the door, then looked down on the ground to see a small red box, with black ribbon laced around it. "There's your note..." Cheryl said with a nervous chuckle. "Yeah... Guess I should read it.." I responded while bending over to pick up the small mystery. After getting the box, we all retreated into the kitchen where I sat the box on the counter staring nervously at it till Cheryl finally said aloud come on just please open it... This suspense is making me nervous...." I had agreed and slowly began unwrapping the silk ribbon till I found myself taking the lid off the box and picking up the piece of paper that read.....

"Adeline Jones, you're

invited to my little experiment.

Feel special? Yeah. I thought

you would.

Anyways, if you come with more than

8 I requested... Well.. Let's

just say there's gonna be a few problems.

-C & E"

"Wow. Creepy alert much... And 8? Who else got this note?" I said aloud. Cheryl looked from the note to me and responded with "Well for sure Clyde, you, and me... But who else? that leaves 5 others." I sat there leaning over the counter for about 5 minutes, taking everything in, before standing back up and walking up the stairs. "You're staying here for tonight Cheryl." Without an argument she turned of the kitchen light and paced up the stairs behind me till we were both in my room passed out.
