Chapter 1 : Hopes and Desire

I sat down in the middle of the room with my back facing my bedroom door and my eyes glued on to the window gazing the moon with so much hope and desire to explore the outside world where humans interact with each other. The only human interaction I've ever experienced was with my parents. The moonlight generously cascading down towards my face giving it an ethereal glow from afar. My platinum blonde hair glowing due to receiving light from the moon. My hands clenched together in a tight grip near my chest where my heart was thumping very loudly hoping the gods would finally listen to my prayers and let me step a foot outside even just for 5 minutes just to caress mother nature in a soothing and gentle manner.

I have reached a ripe age where I was ready to rebel for my own freedom and desires. The deepest and darkest desire to interact with humans from the opposite sex beside my father and to fall in love just like all the books scattered across my room. How I long to receive love from someone else besides my parents and able to cherish that person for eternity.

I quickly got up from my sitting position and walk towards the mirror where I see a pitiful girl staring back at me, two pair of amber eyes gleamed with hope, baby pink lips plastered in a huge grin, platinum blonde hair cascades down towards the hips, skin pale as a porcelain doll but scattered with small specks of gold as father always says and finally a fading scar running down from the middle of the forehead towards the right cheek. I've always hate the scar but learned to love it after awhile cause it reminds me of the pain I had to endure during my rough times.

I pinched my cheeks and started laughing at my own antics. I was hungry for romance, that's a certain. I quickly sat down infront of the mirror and started brushing my hair in a slow and steady pace.

Millions of thoughts came running inside my mind of how my father would react just by me mentioning about the outside world. I've figured it's best to leave my safe haven and start exploring the other what ifs outside. I was not one of the Pures as I never awakened any ability after I reached the age of 16, it's safe to say I was the many Fairs and no one is going to start chasing me but my father told me it wasn't safe for me because people are going to assume I'm a Pure since my mom was one of the few rare ones.

Locked at a young age and forced to awaken my none existence abilities sucked. Father did all kinds of research on me and kept putting me under a stressful situation to trigger my abilities but it only worsen my anxiety to the point I stopped talking to him and only converse with him when I need something urgently. Just the thought of his face triggers my anxiety, leaving under the same roof definitely made me lock my bedroom door at all time and pushing a dresser in front of it to prevent him trying to take me during the night.

I calmly brushed my hair when I heard a sudden bang from downstairs, I figured it was my father's way of gaining my attention so he can conduct another experiment on me. I was not going to fall for it again as he used that trick multiple times when I was younger just to capture me and lock me in the basement for day until he's satisfied with his research. Even though I didn't have any abilities but my healing ability was faster than an average Fair. A wound that would caused months to heal would be gone in just seconds due to my healing abilities. This made my father inflict multiple kinds of wounds on my body to research about my healing speed and how it would benefit on his body.

The sounds went on for quite some time, that isn't normal. I got up and pushed my dresser to the side. I hesitantly opened my bedroom room waiting for my father to pounce on me or grab my hair but no one was outside. I started to worry about my father's safety. I quickly grabbed a metal bat beside the bedroom door and headed downstairs towards the source of the sound.

My heart was thumping so loud, I swear anyone could hear it just by standing beside me. I stopped halfway and gathered my hair in a ponytail before resuming my journey towards the source of the sound. I tiptoed down the stairs.

When I got there, my heart felt like it was going to come out from my mouth with my vomit as lubricant. My father was laying there with his eyes wide open, he looked so lifeless. Blood splattered all across the kitchen floor and walls. I was stunned and wasn't able to move when suddenly someone yanked on my ponytail causing me to let out a shriek.

I swung my metal bat and I could feel it collide with something or someone, the person let go of my hair and I quickly ran upstairs towards my safe haven.

I could hear footsteps chasing me from behind and I started hyperventilating.

"Shit, he wasn't alone. Aaron help me catch this bitch, might be his secret mistress or something," the guy was screaming while chasing me and I pushed my legs harder towards my bedroom.

As soon as I reach my bedroom, I quickly pushed the panic button and the door was shut with a heavy metal so was the window. I could hear him pounding the metal door that was separating him and me.

"Open up, you stupid bitch! Your husband or whatever is dead. Now, open this up cause like it or not, we will pry this open and you'll have nowhere to go!," I stared at the metal door for awhile trying to gather my thoughts. What now?

I ran inside my closet and locked it. I really had nowhere to go, I don't know anyone besides my parents. I started having shortness of breath so I tried to calm myself and think of something.

I can still hear them pounding on the metal door but this time with something, maybe a crowbar. I could hear the banging getting louder and louder as a sound of them getting frustrated. I closed my eyes and count to ten, trying to calm myself and think of a solution.

What am I supposed to do now?
