Prologue
Sometimes life takes unexpected turns. We think we know everything that we want for the future, but in reality, we never do know what we want. We don't even know what the future holds for us. If we are going to end up happy, miserable or dead. But one thing is for sure there is always light on the other side.
I was one of those who thought she knew what she wanted and who thought she had everything figured out. When in reality I never knew...
"ESTELLEEEE!" My name was yelled by Lisandra my I suppose best friend and only friend I have here. The echo of my name echoed all throughout the library. One thing is for sure, Lis must be getting one heck of an ear pull by Eldest Maranda.
"Ooowwwww! Eldest please let gooo!! I'm soorrry!! For the love of Zeus!!" Lisandra pleads in pain.
Eldest Maranda is the literature angel. Or librarian as humans like to call it. She is the fifth eldest angel in heaven. She is very strict, but isn't mean. She hates when people test her buttons. The thing that Lisandra always does.
"Lisandra I promise you in the name of Apollo, I would rip your ear off and feed it to the demons next time you come in here and scream or do anything unacceptable. Do I make myself clear Angel Lisandra?" Eldest Maranda said with a very hard tone in her voice.
Well, Lisy sure messed with Eldest Maranda on a bad day.
"Yes, Eldest! Please let go of my ear now! I still need it! I still haven't heard some things I want to hear." Lisandra pleads again. I can already imagine her biting her lips and bending down a little because Eldest Maranda is very short, but can sure as heck jump high.
I heard Lisa let out a breath of relief and the flapping of Eldest Maranda's wings moving away from her and to the back of the library.
A couple of minutes later I heard the slow flapping of wings coming my way. Then the dropping of a couple books to the floor and groan of pain.
Lisandra is a Hermes angel. She is mischievous and loves to have a good time. Never takes anything seriously and is always getting into trouble. As you have noticed.
"So you hear me crying out in pain and you just stay here with your little journal doing goddess knows what!" Lisandra whisper yelled when she was a few inches away from me.
"Well, who told you to scream in a library? Doesn't this make the 16th time Eldest Maranda has to pull your ear? How is your ear still attached honestly?" I chuckle lowly and look up at her.
Lisandra is not only mischief and fun, but she is also beautiful. Her blonde hair falls down to the middle of her back. She has hazel eyes that sometimes look light green and she's very tall. Some angels when they first see her think she is an Aphrodite Angel for how beautiful she is, but no one guesses that she is a Hermes Angel.

"Haha, you are so funny. It's actually the 14th time.... I just realized saying that did not defend my case." She mumbled to herself.
I could not help but laugh at her. Lisandra talks so much that she does not realize sometimes that she is digging herself deeper into stuff, but she is very smart. Even though she does not act like she's smart sometimes.
"Keep laughing Stel then I won't tell a message the gods sent to you." Lisandra teased folding her arms.
I rolled my eyes and crossed my arms.
"What glorious message did the gods sent me this time? Let me guess another message on how I need to be patient and not rush to get my wings?" I said getting up and putting a couple books away.
She just chuckles and shakes her head.
"Wow!! You are SO excited!!." She flies closer to me and sits down on the chair I was sitting in. She closes her wings and stretches her legs.
"I been flying all day it's exhausting. They don't let me take a break. "Angel Lisandra take this package to Angel Dimitri in the Wisdom cloud." She mocked her creator's, Hermes, voice.
I just rolled my eyes. Messenger angels are very whining, but they have a right to whine. They have the hardest job on heaven, but don't tell them that because it would go to their heads and they'll whine more.
"Oh poor you. Don't start crying now. Now tell me the stupid message the gods sent me this time already." I interrupted her from talking more about how much she hates her job.
She stuck her tongue out at me and just smiles. Then signs thinking if she should tell me or not. I kept looking at her becoming impatient by the minute.
"Lisandra, I swear if you don't tell me what the message is I promise you I would tell everyone that you-" She covered my mouth before I could continue what I was going to say.
She glares at me and then whispers. "There are a lot of ears here right now. We have to go somewhere private. The gods order me not to allow anyone know other than you and me." She stood up and opened her wings.
"Follow me." She said flying in the direction of the library exit. When I called out a fact she forgot.
"Lis do I need to remind you that I don't have wings and only have legs to take me places?" She stopped flying after she heard me and groan out loud.
She comes towards and in a flash carried me up and we were flying very fast out the library knocking down some books on the way.
"LISANDRAAAAA!!" We heard Eldest Maranda behind us yell. We burst out laughing.
Zeus seems to be in a good mood today. The clouds are beautiful today and peaceful. It looks like you are in a dream everything looks different from up here. Just looking at this makes me wish I could earn my wings already.
Being the only pre-angel in heaven is not as fun as it uses to be. It used to be Lisandra and me being the only pre-angels, but Lisandra earns her wings by helping a human in need. The human was going to kill themselves, but Lisandra was able to change their mind.
Messenger angels can communicate with humans along with wisdom angels. They work together to help humans. There are different types of angels that have a different type of abilities depending on who their god or goddess is.
I, on the other hand, haven't earned my wings. I'm the longest pre-angel who has not earn their wings. For an unknown reason.
"Stel, don't worry. You would earn your wings. Just be patient. Maybe you haven't earned them yet because there is something bigger out there for you. Something you haven't found yet that is waiting for you." Lisandra said her voice sounding like a whisper in the clouds because of the wind.
I don't respond and just stay quiet. What could possibly be out there that I need to find? All I want is my wings nothing more nothing less.
After a couple of minutes of flying, we landed on dream meadow. This is the meadow where human angels communicate with their loved ones through a dream. They would talk to their loved ones for hours, while their loved ones feel like is just a couple minutes sometimes seconds.
This meadow is only used 3 times a month when human angels want to tell their loved ones something important. Guardian angels use it as well, but more often than human angels.
Anybody can come to the dream meadow whenever they like, they just can't try to communicate with humans if they aren't a human Angel or guardian angel.
"Lis, what are we doing here?" I asked confused not knowing why she brought me here.
Lis closed her wings and sat down on the grass and told me to sit down as well. She took a hold of my hands and looked me straight in the eyes.
"Estelle, the gods have encountered with a lost soul a few days ago and this soul said your name. The gods cannot understand the soul because it only can be understood by the person the soul is looking for." She said looking a bit worried about what she has to tell me next. She took a deep calming breath and spoke again.
"They asked me to take you where they found the soul and for you to listen to what it has to say. Then they want me to take you to them and for you to tell them what the soul said. Estelle, this is very dangerous. I don't think you should do it. No pre-angel has encountered a lost soul because they would get lost in the soul's domain." Her hold on my hands tighten and she looked very scared and worry.
I took a deep breath and thought about what she has told me. Lost souls are messengers of forgotten thoughts. They mainly communicate with gods or goddess. They are called lost souls because they use to take the shape of beings that are lost in you mind.
But I don't know what this soul wants with me, but the gods asked me to do this and I can not disobey them. I looked at Lisandra and made up my mind.
"I'll do it. Take me to the lost soul." There were tears on Lisandra's eyes. She nodded and we walked over to the dark side of the dream meadow. This side of the meadow is where dream-illusions happen. Humans see things they miss or lost here. Other mysteries things happen here. No one comes here unless they are looking for something.
I never being in the dark meadow. Everywhere I look I feel creeped out. Like there is something or someone looking at me. It's very cold that you could see your breath.
Darkness and magic are all around. You kind of feel trapped like there's no escape. The only sound you hear is the sounds of small animals running around, owls and our footsteps.
"I swear if I see one more shadow pass by I'm going to scream bloody murder," Lisandra mumbles to herself.
"Good to know that I'm not the only one seeing things," I whisper to her. Lisa chuckles and we walk slowly and quietly. Trying not to disturb any unknown thing in this place.
We walk far longer than I expected and I feel like we are lost. Lisandra keeps looking around everywhere and frowning. I stop walking and crossed my arms.
"Lisandra, we are lost aren't we?" I ask annoyed. My feet hurt and I am very hungry.
She turns around slowly and there's a sad smile on her face.
"No, we are not lost. You are exactly where you are supposed to be." She says walking closer to me. My arms fall to my side and I frown.
"Lisandra what are- OH GOD!!" I yell out. Lisandra opens her wings and instead of being white they turn completely black.
I start walking backward.
"Lisa why-what is going on? W-why are your wings black?" I mumble and looking at her with wide eyes.
She gives a sinister smile and just shakes her head.
"You are so naive. You really thought that the gods actually were asking for your help. You made this way too easy for me. He told me that this was going to be a difficult task when it was quite the opposite." Her voice becomes deeper and deeper the more she talked. If sounded like a demon' s voice with much more venom in it.
I didn't know what was going on, but one thing I did know was that I need to get out of there. I turned around to kick and started to run away from her.
I tried running as fast as I could. Dodging through trees, logs and branches aren't as easy as they make it seem in books. I can barely see anything because of the how dark it is. I feel that as I'm running I'm passing through someone or something.
I was close to the dream meadow when I heard a growl behind me. I turned around and saw Lisandra coming down towards me fast glaring. My eyes widen and I was about to turn around and run again, but I was too late.
Lisandra falls on top of me. I hit my head on the ground and everything started to get blurry.
"I thought I was going to have to get ready for a fight? You are just a pathetic bitch. I don't know why he wants you, but I'm getting such a good reward for bringing you to him. We are going to have a little road trip now Estelle. Buck- AHAAHHH!!!!" I felt Lisandra get off me and scream. My vision was getting blurry by the minute.
I could only see blurry images of a person's back. They had very dark hair that went down their back.
"Pl-please. let me go...ple- AHAHAAHAHAH!! STOP PLEASE!!! AHAHAHAHAH!!" Lisandra was screaming in pain.
Black dots started to appear in my vision and everything was beginning to go dark. My eyes were slowly closing. Lisandra continued to scream and the figure slowly turned around.
The only thing I saw was dark blue eyes staring at me. Then everything went black.
My reality was never true. The life I had was never mine. Everything was a facade. I never knew who I really was and what I have lost.
