Chapter 1

The zoo was in chaos. All the workers running around. 3 kappas have gone missing and some other monsters. Once I got home from school summer started and I was free to travel the country looking for the kappas. First once I got home I still had a list of quick chores. Feeding the dragons, playing with the hell hounds, locking our Krampus’s cage extra tight, and reminding the mere people not to let anyone ride the kelpies. When I got home my hell hounds charged at me licking me and poking at my face with their paws and horns. “Okay okay,” I said to them, “you know I can only take one of you on the trip.” The dogs walked away as my favorite, Cooper walked up. His fur was red, and his horns fully grown for a juvenile. “come on boy let’s go to the house” I said.

By the time I had reached the house my sister with her Alicorn were walking around anxiously, “Liam where have you been?” “Uh unlike you and you’re fancy home school, I am not home right when school is over.” “Theirs no time fo that now come on mom wants you.” “Your the one who started the conversation .” I stated. I walked up to my mom’s as quickly as I could. “Son,” she said in a grim tone, “your father and I can not come on the trip.” “Why?” I asked. “One of the dragons gave your father a serious burn. I think I need to stay with him.” “Well won’t we need an adult to fly anywhere?” “Lia your sister can fly on her Alicorn and your Hell Hound can teleport.” “Okay mom we won’t let you down!” I said but I did not really believe it my self.

”Okay Lia you ready!” I said in a hurry ready to leave. I was all packed but I didn’t know if she was. “Yep Lets go!” I could tell we both wanted to go. “So remember we’ll meet at 4 in Wisconsin to find the first kappa. Then we call the zoo and they will bring it back.” “Yep I remember” she responded. “Okay, great!” I said splendidly excited to go on the trip. Yep that’s right I used the word splendidly. I grabbed my stuff and hopped on cooper, then black smoke crowded my vision and I couldn’t see the zoo anymore. Cooper was tired and needed a quick rest every mile or so. Lia’s Alicorn was also young so it might not fly as fast as my Hell Hound could teleport. I planed on stopping at 12 for lunch. But then my vision crowded with smoke, gone.
