The uneasy balance between these worlds is soon shattered when she witnesses the fatal shooting of her childhood best friend at the hands of a police officer. Hey Im Starr Carter 16-year-old American girl who lives in the fictional, black neighborhood of Garden Heights, but attends a predominantly white private school Williamson Prep. I'm not afraid to step up to anyone because the truth will step up and people will noticed everything but my life is hard to deal with but when it comes to killing my best friends or the ones i love the most its going down meaning I'm going to stop this when it starts.
