Chapter 1

Emily

I sit in front of my vanity reluctantly applying makeup to go hang out with my best friend, Olivia. I would much rather be heading to my boyfriend Benji's house, we started dating our freshman year of Highschool, we're now well into our senior year and the past week has been difficult because Benji has been out of town all week getting college tours, he'll be home within the next 20 minutes and I'd love to surprise him by being there when he arrives, but I made plans weeks ago with Olivia to go watch a new horror movie that had come out. Just as I finish my makeup my phone lights up with a text from Olivia;

"Hey girly just got into a fight with my mom so the plan is off for tonight sorry"

As bad as it sounds, I'm relieved that I don't have to sit through an entire movie before being able to see Benji, Olivia and I have been friends since kindergarten, but sometimes she gets on my nerves. I'm a quiet girl who usually keeps to myself while Olivia is the exact opposite. She knows everything about everyone and when there's a rumor she's the first to hear about it. I send a text to Olivia and quickly check the time and smile because I still have 15 minutes before Benji gets home, I grab my phone and car keys and practically run to my car and head to Benji's house hoping I'll beat him there.

When I pull into his winding driveway I sigh a little at the sight of his car already parked in his spot in the driveway. I decide to do the next best thing and quietly get out of my car, sneaking around to the back door to surprise him. I slide the glass door open and creep up the stairs to his bedroom, being less quiet when I hear how loud his music is. I push his door open quickly and start to yell surprise, but all I get out is "sur-" before I realize he's not the only one on his bed, and it's not only his clothes on the floor.

I start to walk out of the room before I realize that if I don't say something now I never will. I angrily unplug the radio, startling them both with the sudden silence. I turn to Olivia first, crossing my arms "So when you said you were fighting with your mom you meant having sex with my boyfriend? Care to explain yourself or are you just gonna stare at me with your tits hanging out?" At my last statement they both yank blankets over themselves. Before Olivia can speak Benji does "Babe, it's not what you think, this wasn't supposed to happen, I'm so sorry! I love you!" I let out an involuntary laugh "Save it for someone who cares Benjamin. I don't have time to have a pig for a boyfriend and a backstabbing skank for a best friend. You two can have each other, because I want nothing to do with either of you ever again" I turn and leave the room. I manage to hold back my tears until I reach my car, I get in and start the drive back to my house, wiping tears away but not doing much to clear my vision. I open my glovebox to find a napkin and when I look back up I realize there's something that looks like a cat in the road a few yards ahead, I swerve to the right and notice a second to late that there's a large oak tree. Sudden pain fills my entire body and then I'm enveloped in nothing but darkness.

It's a good beginning! It does need some editing here and there, but nothing too crazy. I can see this story being a fun journey to read.
