Chapter 1

The leaves crunch underneath the wolf's paws, ears alert shifting side to side hearing nothing but whistling wind whish around its face. Brown speckled fur rising up in awareness around the back spine and bottom rear, near the tail while crouching down on its front paws and legs, taking tiny steps in a quiet sneakily manner. The tall green weeds helped hide the entire wolf's form from a distance, crawling slowly through the weeds carefully targeting an object on a bench.

A human is sitting on the bench eating a sandwich and staring off in a different direction, not aware of her presents. Her eyes catch a shiny object that's sitting next to the human who must have taken it off, but who knows why.

The wolf stops and rears its butt up, swaying side to side in a cat-like manner. As if ready to pounce in a playful way. But no, the wolf is on a mission.

As the human is finishing up the sandwich, the person gets up off the bench and walks to the side of the bench that's a foot away, to discard the trash into the trash-bin. This is the perfect time for the wolf-counting to two for a sprint-charge.

Pouncing out of the tall weeds, the wolf dashes towards the targeted bench. All four paws hitting the pavement sidewalk hard and fast with calculated movements like a cheetah chase. The human turns back towards the bench catching the movement, eyes widening in surprise-shock seeing a huge dog is running towards the bench.

The human quickly tries to grab the object the wolf is running towards once he noticed. But, it wasn't quick enough.

The wolf opens its mouth and grabs the object using its sharp white canine teeth.

"Hey! No! Give that back!" The human screams out, daring the wolf.

Stunned seeing the wolf actually grin with its mouth while holding the object between its teeth. The wolf turns around and bolts away from the scene into a woodsy area.

"I need to call animal control!!" The wolf hears from behind. Huffing the wolf continues head-on, running the path where it came from towards its destination.

An old man, laying down on an old blanket underneath a tree. His wrinkles prominent and deep crows-feet lining around his tired-looking eyes, skin pale, sickly with a red wet nose.

The wolf walks slowly and timidly to the old man.

The man looks up at the wolf with wide scared eyes. He knew his time will come but, he never thought he was going to die from a wild wolf in the woods.

The wolf laid down a foot away from him, dropping the object down onto the Earth's floor and leaves. The brown wolf sled the thing with its wet black nose to the old man, whining; pleading him to take it.

The old man looks down at the thing with wider eyes and jaws dropping, "That's a shiny watch," He gasps in disbelief.

The wolf sneezes with a head nod as in saying, yes it is, then tilts its head to the side as if saying, well...waiting.

The man lifts his hand shakingly with bruised purple knuckles, grasping the watch to stuff it into his brown coat pocket without hesitation.

The wolf gets up ready to turn and leave but stops hearing the old man speak up from behind, "Thank you." He coughs out.

The wolf's head turns back over its shoulder. Meeting eyes with the man as if saying, your welcome blinking its eyes twice.

Sprinting off into the deep woods the wolf goes, off to where she dreads most. Home.

The old man smiles with yellow teeth showing, "Wolf Bandit," He chuckles shaking his head.

These were the many times the wolf has shown an act of kindness and pure heart. Never will be caught because no one knew what's behind the lone wolf.
