I take long strides to the front of the room, until I was standing in front of the whiteboard. I tap the palm of my hand repeatedly onto the board, gaining the stares of the people within the room with a cringe. I smile inwardly. Step one already completed.
Alright, show time.
"Look at you," I look around the room, "You all are acting as they want you to -- scared, confused, and most of all -- panicked. I obtain mixed signs from the crowd: curious glances, full attention, and amusement.
Perfect.
"Why is this so? Why do you show such things now?" I hear mumbling, and await it to die down before I continue.
"Would you rather look like meek, afraid rabbits, or ferocious beasts that show no fear upon troubles we face?" I don't wait for a response from them. Instead, I listen to the pace of my heart, and wipe the sweat off my clammy hands on my pants.
"I know; we've all just lost everything and you're hearing from some dumb little teenager that doesn't know anything. I know; you feel like it's easier to quiver or panic, and await a saviour, to just hope, but I'm telling you now: that won't work. We can't just rely on them now. We've gotta be strong"
I breathe in, "We've gotta be audacious; willing to take risks and we've gotta let our dire need for vengeance and survival envelop us, because that's all we've got." I flash them a hopeful grin, "So, do you wanna fight or cower? Do you wanna avenge or just hope?"
I finish with a sigh, and when I'm met with the running towards me, reacting as positive as I'd hoped for, with their shrills, shrieks and screams with different tones and audio pitches, "We wanna fight!"
A large smile plasters onto my face, "Damn right you do!"
